Yeah, if it were more accurate the show would be about four IT department guys stuck in go-nowhere "computer janitor" jobs blowing most of their money on pop-cultural genre garbage and acting like it makes them unique and superior as opposed to all of those mundanes with their boring gray lives of getting outside and meaningfully interacting with people, obsessing over video games, posting long screeds on message boards about women are all vapid sluts can't appreciate nice guys like them and only want douche jocks and dudebros, and one of them would be a triple-chinned Brony and another would brag about his virtual Lego constructions.

Funny you should mention that. This show was a remake of the British show "The IT Crowd" with that exact setup.

Surprisingly, the British version was even MORE lowbrow and worse than BBT.

FABIO once again proves he has no taste and hates all that is good in this shitty world.

The fact that privileged white nerds think that being painted in the same broad strokes as every other group on the planet to ever appear on a sitcom is comparable to the methodical and institutionalized oppression of an entire race is probably one of the most punchable things I've ever heard.

I can live with that.

Privileged white nerds are the most oppressed group in the history of time. Being poorly portrayed in a sitcom is the equivalent of at least 5.6 holocausts.

I can't belive it every time some geek or nerd whines about how this show is negative stereotyping, you'd think they'd be flattered at being portrayed as hard-core science professionals who manage to somehow attract instead of repel human females who aren't creepy nerdettes themselves.

PS The IT Crowd is hardly like the Big Bang Theory in re:portrayal of nerds (unless you're talking about the unsold American remake pilot, which was like a pre-BBT) the IT nerds are portrayed as obnoxious, anti-social, condescending and unable to realize why those are bad things.

IT Crowd is more accurate; most nerds are anti-social towards 'normal people' as having to socialize with them means having to know idiotic pop culture and never talking about things above an 8th grade level. It's like being sober and trying to hang out with someone drunk off their ass.
