Do people even care about Michael Moore anymore? Besides, I thought the LOL MICHAEL MOORE IS FAT jokes were played out years ago, even before that David Zucker abortion which was full of them.

But what else can you expect from the demographic that still thinks Clinton/Lewinsky blowjob jokes are the zenith of comedy?

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-07-17

The right wing still likes to say "liberals hate the rich, but Michael Moore is rich, so hypocrisy on you" and so forth.

This ignores, of course, that I can at least see and understand how Moore got his money, whereas people whose wealth requires exponents and whine about needing more tax cuts often don't want me to realize their money owes a lot to buying the kinds of laws and favors that should have people out with torches and pitchforks.

animegurl1000 - 2012-07-17

Woolery seems to have it in for the likes of Bill Gates and Warren Buffet as well. I guess if you are rich and have any sort of liberal views whatsoever, even merely saying that the wealthy should pay a little back into the system that made them wealthy in the first place, makes you a hypocrite.

I'm guessing it's just an extension of their belief that all liberals are just poor and lazy, that they can't possibly be anything but.

Xenocide - 2012-07-17

It's one thing if a rich guy acts with complete selfishness, treating the poor like cattle and exploiting them for everything they're worth.

But if you're a rich guy and you show compassion for the poor? Well, then you're just going to piss off an old white guy sitting next to a fire.

Basically, they see Moore, Gates, and Buffett as race traitors.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-07-17

Doesn't Moore spend most of his money on his studio?

Also, what have you done to make the world a better place, Chuck Woolery?

baleen - 2012-07-17

Wheel of Fortune did more for the poor than any of your welfare checks and cultural relativism. You bleeding heart communist.

StanleyPain - 2012-07-17

It's so precious the right things that saying bad things about Michael Moore will somehow 1) make liberal heads explode OMG MY LORD AND MASTER HAS BEEN CRITICIZED or 2) accomplish anything other than making themselves look like out of touch assholes (again).

baleen - 2012-07-17

I hate Michael Moore post-Roger & Me, that film being a heartfelt and true story of a city destroyed by outsourcing. I think he shat all over OWS by introducing every leftist issue under the sun to an already fractious, kneejerk mob. My brain shuts down whenever I see him and wanders to more interesting things.

deadpan - 2012-07-17

You have to give him credit for Canadian Bacon at least. Indulgent cameos aside it's a pretty solid piece of satire.

cognitivedissonance - 2012-07-18

When you operate on a strict hierarchy delineated by whoever is currently spouting the party line, you assume everybody else does so, and since everybody else is evil, in a much higher degree.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-07-17

Didn't Moore include footage of Woolery telling an offensive joke in one of his movies? I'm going to see if I can find the clip.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-07-17

Nope. That was Bob Eubanks.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-07-17

You know what I hate about Micheal Moore? I hate that at the end of Bowling for Columbine, after poor old Charleton Heston had already doddered away, he set up for an obviously staged jump cut so we could see his pleading face while he was holding up the picture of the dead child. I hate that everything stops in the middle of Fahrenheit 911 so he perform some ridiculous stunt with an ice cream truck next to the capitol. And so on.

But I love that he may have done more than any other American to make independent documentary film matter. When I saw Fahrenheit 911, people were lined up all the way into the parking lot, because the media had been afraid to criticize Bush for way too long, and people were desperate for some fresh air. we wanted to feel like we were living in America again.

If he's rich, it's because he put his own money into some risky projects that he believed in, and they paid off. He took a camera crew to the Iraqi battlefield. Someone who worked with him said "Here's a guy who gets death threats every day."

TheSupafly - 2012-07-17

I hate all the stunts and manipulation he does. I know most documentaries do that to some extend, but he really twists things around. Every goddamn time he stands outside of a building with a megaphone I cringe and have to speed past it. I still watch all his movies, and feel I have learned something after each one, but his manipulation tactics are obvious and grating. Still like him for the most part though.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-07-17

I agree with all of that.

Bort - 2012-07-18

In "Fahrenheit 9/11", Moore completely neglected the Neocon angle of the Iraq War, and went entirely with an oil-grabbing business deal. So his assessment was pretty far off. That said, it was "Fahrenheit 9/11" that the national discussion coalesced around: there had been rumblings from a thousand quarters about how there was a hell of a lot wrong with the Iraq War, but it was only when the movie came out that a coherent discussion began to form. So good for Moore!

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-07-18

And fuck Chuck. As a conservative attacking for being a successful entrepreneur, he's at least as much of a hypocrite as Moore. The main difference is Micheal Moore makes interesting documentaries and he makes shitty games shows

memedumpster - 2012-07-18

The sound effects make this, as do the Victoria Jackson / Glenn Beck level insults.
