I like this story so much because it's a really apt metaphor for both Stalinism and the idea of using television to placate the masses. Bradbury often foresaw the combination of the two working hand in hand and while it seemed unthinkable back when he wrote these stories, what he predicted has slowly become more prescient.

I remember the short story, it's a cool little piece of personal reflection about conformity and self-repression. Going out at night for a walk wasn't illegal as such but it was so socially unusual that it doing it became "reasonable suspicion" you were some kind of Communist/Terrorist.
