Looks pretty good, though I was simultaneously bored with and entertained by The Royal Tenenbaums

Looks good, Might go see it. A movielounge just opened up in town and I think it'll probably show there. So I'll be a little inebriated when watching, might make me like it a little more. I like Wes Anderson's Directing style, but I find myself falling asleep to his movies whenever I watch them. The Darjeeling Limited was like that, I watched and liked it, but I find myself unable to remember what happened in the movie. I think it was about some guys looking for their mom.

Bill Murray is getting older, and funnier. After watching Ghost Busters last month, seeing this reminds me that Mr. Murray will eventually pass on, and a shining light of comedy will dim. Mortality will take us from our youngest and strongest to a frailty only definable when you reach it.

I'm going to see this movie, I think.

But then he'll turn into a ghost and bust his own ghost.

I love Bill Murray and Wes Anderson but am kind of irritated by Rich People * Soundtrack / Bill Murray + Harold & Maude thing. What he does he does very well, but it would be cool if he tried to do something out of sync with his general privilege. Not to sound prudish but the only working class character he has ever had in his films was Owen Wilson's in Bottlerocket and even then he was a caricature of a poor person.

Wes, Spike and Sophia all grew up in such unparalleled luxury that I don't think they have the slightest understanding of how normal people interact and live, which allows them to make quirky outsider comedies detached from the burdens of reality.

Word. And with what big pincers and Craptabulous said, I can only add that Wes Anderson is an excellent stylist who gets great actors to play flat characters in [deliberately] unrealistic plots. The stars are for Murray because in these 3 minutes, Bill Murray makes me want to see something that I ultimately have no intention of seeing.

Being a stylist or formalist is nice, but Wes Anderson has shit to say about anything. He's brilliant with fancy footwork and hand-waving in the service of a 100 minute music video tribute to costumes and sets.

Thanks for wearing your pants a little short, Wes. Let me know if you make anything about humans.

"Let me know if you make anything about humans."

Ugh, barf-o-rama.

You know what's delicious?
Quirking off on your fans with 20 million dollars worth of celebrities in tasty costumes on scrumptious sets, and having them lick it up just because it's fresh.
