One of Santorum's many axioms for his program of Right-Thinking is:
If Populist, Then Elitist

oswaldtheluckyrabbit - 2012-02-25

so white, so old

pastorofmuppets - 2012-02-25

It doesn't sound like he believes it.

Anaxagoras - 2012-02-25

I.... I don't think he's pandering. I think he sincerely believes that.

That's even worse.

riedquat - 2012-02-25

Santorum: "Raise your children to pump gas and shovel shit, it's the only way not to be brainwashed by liberals"

The People: "OK"

what the fuck is going on

kamlem - 2012-02-25

But I'm sure university educated people are just as likely to be fundy christian as non uni... oh.

Tobster - 2012-02-25

Man with law degree tells the poor and ignorant that they shouldn't go to college.

Xenocide - 2012-02-25

He went to college? Oh shit, that means Santorum is an Obamabot sleeper agent!

That explains a lot, actually.

sosage - 2012-02-25

Evil

joelkazoo - 2012-02-25

SERIOUSLY, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU!

I'm SO looking forward to his inevitable crash and burn!

CrimsonHyperSloth - 2012-02-25

Don't bank on it:

Hooker - 2012-02-25

In a country of 300 million people there is a system where you can pick between two options for the leader of everyone, and this is what they came up with for one of the two options?

mashedtater - 2012-02-25

i know, i know, i know, it is entirely insane.

themilkshark - 2012-02-26

Libertarianism will solve EVERYTHING!!!!

Riskbreaker - 2012-02-25

Santorum: Because you always need to go full retard.

The Mothership - 2012-02-25

As a liberal university professor, I can assure you that he is correct: I am trying to indoctrinate your children (or you) into a way of thinking critically about the life that you live.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2012-02-25

I love you Professor Mothership, but I fear the probability of doing what was meant to happen never will.

The Mothership - 2012-02-25

uh, didn't quite follow that, Sug.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2012-02-25

We were meant to do the tango on a beach in San Juan, but it is improbable.

Meerkat - 2012-02-25

You fucking sped. It's Professor THE Mothership.

The Mothership - 2012-02-26

Aww, sug I thought you'd given up on me. My dream of us is doing the percolator on a beach in Hawaii and being so high on mushrooms that we think the sand is a glass table we are falling through.

Xenocide - 2012-02-25

So long as your children get remade in someone's image, right, Rick? Because that's what kids are: living wads of clay to mold into shapes. None of them have free will or identities of their own, so the only question is whose identity and values will be forced on them.

Rick Santorum has eight children.

fatatty - 2012-02-26

Rick Santorum has eight Rick Santorums.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2012-02-25

I fully endorse this message. Less kids going to college means less people competing in my arena. I need plumbers and people to pave roads, not over educated youngsters gunning for my job. On the other hand, more college students means more government guaranteed loans to cash in on.

Koda Maja - 2012-02-26

You're not likely to get a job as a plumber or bricklayer without going to college or trade school.

Basically Santorum is encouraging children to settle on a life in tele-sales, fast food, or whatever unskilled manual labor jobs that are left in the country.

TeenerTot - 2012-02-25

Jesus fucking christ.

TeenerTot - 2012-02-25

And stars

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-02-25

"Jesus fucking Christ and stars" is a pretty good expletive.

Xenocide - 2012-02-25

Also a pretty good Cambpell's Soup flavor.

joelkazoo - 2012-02-25

Ah, Xeno! Made me laugh out loud, literally. Surrogate Stars: *****

Koda Maja - 2012-02-26

Coming to Madison Square Garden: Jesus Fucking Christ and Stars -- ON ICE!

Oktay - 2012-02-25

Santorum is the best thing to happen to Obama.

B. Weed - 2012-02-25

Calling Obama a snob is almost as good as calling him uppity-- without having to get called out on actually calling him uppity.

Riskbreaker - 2012-02-25

"Look at that snob, going to eat burgers with regular folks. What an elitist asshole!"

Robin Kestrel - 2012-02-25

indoctrinate (verb): to teach a person or group to accept a set of beliefs uncritically.

Funny, why do I associate that with conservative institutions more so than liberal ones?

That guy - 2012-02-27

To be fair, there's a bad rash of that in liberal institutions.

In most conservative institutions, the bad rash is the prescription.

memedumpster - 2012-02-25

It's really unfair, you can't elect a Democrat without them selling you out, but Republicans get the exact candidate they want to represent them every time.

Meerkat - 2012-02-25

At first I read "panders to its horrible constituents" but then I saw I read it wrong and I was vaguely saddened.

mashedtater - 2012-02-25

he is just planting the seeds for cutting education funds...

"but you guys agreed with me! your children don't need to go to college!"

Mother_Puncher - 2012-02-25

This is why Dave Muataine supports him

spikestoyiu - 2012-02-26

Kind of.

"Contrary to how some people have interpreted my words, I have not endorsed any presidential candidate," the rocker said in a release after earlier reports had him backing Republican Rick Santorum on Wednesday. "What I did say was that I hope to see a Republican in the White House. I've seen good qualities in all the candidates but by no means have made my choice yet. I respect the fact that Santorum took time off from his campaign to be with his sick daughter, but I never used the word 'endorse.'"

Accidie - 2012-02-26

College is dumb, but not as dumb as Santorum,

Louis Armstrong - 2012-02-26

Yeah, but I would like my children to be better then my current image:septic tank inspector, foxy boxing dancer, trailer trash, a noble coal miner(image of cancer yet to be detected)......

hammsangwich - 2012-02-26

I remember telling my physics teacher "Fuck you, I ain't listenin to no liberal Jew Einstein tellin me what laws I have to abide by!"

fatatty - 2012-02-26

"The unemployment rate among (the) non-college-educated is well into the double digits in America. It's 4 percent or 5 percent for people who have college degrees." -Rick Santorum, Nov. 2011

Of course he brought this up not to tell the audience that we need better education, but to tell us that we need more jobs for the uneducated like his coal mining father.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-02-26

Fun fact. He supported college education for everyone on his 2006 Senate run website:

"In addition to Rick’s support of ensuring that primary and secondary schools in Pennsylvania are equipped for success, he is equally committed to ensuring the every Pennsylvanian has access to higher education."

He must be pandering to the Tea Party commandment of "trust not any who know more than you or are smarter than you, for they art trying to trickest thee." If only they'd apply that equally to other professionals they hire, like doctors, maybe the Tea Party and its growing singularity of ignorance might pass away from colloidal silver poisoning or something.

Nikon - 2012-04-19

My brain just threw up. Five for evil!
