I just don't see how this counts as an animated adaptation of the Jack Nicholson film.

I know this lady is an ancient running joke, but damn has she worked her ass off this. Realistically this thing will never get close to getting done, but I can see her, 65 years old, unveiling something close to being her idea of a furry masterpiece.
|
jangbones - 2011-12-09 my friend, who is the manager of a movie theater with four kids, made his own feature-length movie
it was terrible but he paid for it and did everything himself, and that's a god damned achievement

Cena_mark - 2011-12-10 You guys are making me want to watch American Movie again.
|
baleen - 2011-12-10 For an example of a woman who makes an animated feature, over a period of 14 years, in her basement, and it turns out an amazingly brilliant masterpiece, watch Blood Tea and Red String. I think I posted a trailer for it here years ago...
|
American Standard - 2011-12-10
I actually hope they finish it. it looks delightfully terrible.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2011-12-10
You couldn't see the ghost dongs, but they were there...

Jet Bin Fever - 2011-12-10
It'll be a weird blueprint of her life when it's finished. I imagine the art style will change dramatically each sequence too.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2011-12-10 Given there seems to be only sixty seconds of even close to finished footage for 3 years worth of work, a 90 minute feature will require 270 years to complete.
I'd say there's a shot at it if we invent some kind of immortality drugs, because I have a hard time thinking this woman will ever have any offspring, let alone any that would be willing to take on this... thing.
|
|
SteamPoweredKleenex - 2011-12-10 That could be, I suppose, but their channel only has a minute or so of color footage, the rest of it is pencil tests and announcements.
If they had more, I would've expected it to be posted there. Or, at least, more than 15 seconds of a single scene.

bopeton - 2011-12-10
Need to mix the audio into both channels, that's really distracting to me.
Also the bad animation and bland writing and weird subject matter are somewhat distracting.

Uulanbaatorbaby - 2011-12-10
Thats pretty good animation. The wolf seems to be using rollerskates, though.

Cena_mark - 2011-12-10
5 stars for persistence. I remember folks talking about this a long time ago when I was a lurker on POE Red.

spiteful crow - 2011-12-10
I kind of WANT to see the finished product someday, if only out of morbid curiosity. It'll probably turn out like that weird cartoon sea lion movie made entirely by one guy; that one wasn't very good either, bt the fact it got made at all was sort-of impressive.
|
themilkshark - 2011-12-10
They were DEFINITELY heading south.
Someone buy this lady a copy of "Alpha and Omega" so she can relax and stop making garbage.

I just don't get the 'furry' thing.
I mean, we all have a favorite animal (I like snakes ^_^), but the whole being part of a fandom, going to cons, wearing tails and ears with your own fursona to yiff with is what I don't get.
I dated a furry for a bit. He wasn't weird at all; none of the furries I met IRL are. He had the attachment to foxes, especially kitsune from Japanese folklore. He was a lot more immature than me and didn't understand me. He really, really wanted to talk and bond and shit. I did the stupid thing and was his first lay and of course it sucked. I don't feel like teaching motherfuckers how to fuck.
It took him FOREVER to get over me. I still see him, but we never interact. Fuck that mistake.

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-12-10 YOU dumped HIM?
That's not the story I've heard, Little Miss THANG!
|
StanleyPain - 2011-12-10 POE and Wolf The Animated picture go back a looooong way. Take back that one star.
|
|
themilkshark - 2011-12-11 It sounds to me like you "get" furries a lot more than anyone else around here.

I can't imagine seeing BALTO and thinking "this is it. This is what I want to draw over and over again for the rest of my life."

dairyqueenlatifah - 2011-12-11
Hey, if that one guy could finish that terrible animated Romeo and Juliet movie about the two seals and get it a theatrical release in just five years, I'm sure this woman can pull this off.
Right?
|
SteamPoweredKleenex - 2011-12-11 Yeah, I'm sure it hasn't hit her that the reason crappy animated fare often makes it to theatrical release is because what it lacks in quality it makes up for in being cheap and fast.
