In later seasons, after Mary has gone blind, they have her running across the field and smacking into a tree. Good times.

In the final episode, a railroad tycoon buys everyone's land out from under them. The now-homeless townspeople take revenge by blowing up the entire town. This is actually what happens.

Another episode ("Wave Of The Future", from season eight) shows an elderly man, ostensibly Colonel Harland Sanders, attempting to sell his restaurant franchise to Mrs. Oleson. Sanders was actually born in 1890.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six on the Prairie. Coming to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 in Q3 2012.

Seattle area folk:

On Channel 13, the cartoons were signaled as "over" with the opening theme to "M*A*S*H".

On Channel 11, the cartoons were signaled as "over" with the opening theme to "Little House On The Prairie".

This was before the Disney Afternoon came and turned an entire generation into lovers of Gadget Hackwrench furry porn.

I must be the only kid of my generation who never cared for Rescue Rangers. Maybe it's because I loved the classic Disney shorts. Every time I saw Chip and Dale running around fighting crime my reaction was one of profound indignation. "Wait, so Chip and Dale are HELPING people instead of destroying their lives for a quick laugh? THAT IS NOT HOW THAT WORKS."

So fuck Gadget. That bitch was their Yoko Ono.

What got me was how Chip 'n' Dale were turned into mashed-up versions of Harrison Ford, Tom Selleck, and Don Johnson. There's making characters relatable and then there's making Mowgli breakdance ... I'll watch a lot of shitty cartoons but even I have my limits.

It was so amazing getting cable and seeing Nickelodeon for the first time. Cartoons were only on at certain timeslots so you had a huge stretch of BORING when it got too dark to go out. Now you suddenly had You Can't Do That on Television, Double Dare, and trippy claymation promos inbetween.

This song always reminds me of a girl that lived in my neighborhood. She was obsessed with Little House, and always wore her hair in braids to look like the character. I think it was the only TV show her crazy xtian parents let her watch.

aka "your kids and lyme disease opener"
