Sookie is awful because the character is awful. She's so obviously a self-insertion for the fat author.

The intent is for her to be this super nice tolerant talented strong willed woman, but her actions are nothing but a self-centered user who only sees others as favor-dispensers. Her "talent" is a psychic ability she didn't have to work for, and most of the time she wastes it by giving away her secret since she always has to blurt out some childish retort to what the awful ignorant bigot stereotypes around her island of tolerance are thinking (always in complete, coherent sentences).

I'm a bit of a pretentious twat when it comes to television, and when my idiot friends tried to get me to start watching it back in Season 2, I fully expected to hate this show, just like I hated Frasier, Seinfeld, Louie, and everything else they've recommended. Boy, was I wrong! This show is great, and I offer no excuses for enjoying the hell out of it.

The last few episodes (like the one this clip is taken from) have seen the writing take a dip on the silly side, and to be honest, I was worried it jumped the shark when The Big Reveal came about Sookie's fairy vagina. But it's still a great show, and after all the crap they packed in to the season finale (too much, IMO; should've just had the bit right at the end), it's going to be hard to wait.

That's what the show should be called.

I don't know if you've kept up with the rest of this past season, but I'm pretty sure every plotline you mentioned has been dropped.

Holy shit! That was by far the worst season yet. Over a half a dozen episodes of Mexican wizards that goes NOWHERE, all for a finale where the climax is just people chanting words in a supply closet for half an hour.

Guys, a season is supposed to get MORE crazy and intense as it goes on. Season 4 was the exact opposite.
