Five starring this myself because I don't think anyone's going to bother to watch it. And that's fine. You yanks are missing a great speech though.

I dream of emigrating to Canada someday.

Abstract Fainter - 2011-08-28

5 and favorite.

Rosencrantz - 2011-08-27

The fact that we still have public figures like this in Canada gives me some hope.

Snakeweapon - 2011-08-27

I'll drink to that.

The McK - 2011-08-28

It's not often you hear a speech so good you wish people would stop applauding so you can hear more.

Scynne - 2011-08-28

Parliament won't be the same without Le bon Jack.

Scynne - 2011-08-28

Wasn't supposed to be a reply

biclops - 2011-08-28

Fantastic speech, with the added bonus of forcing Stephen Harper to applaud for social democratic values.

Senator_Unger - 2011-08-28

Good for Canada for still believing in hope and social democracy and the power of youth. My country turned on all that the instant they realized they'd have to give their tax dollars to a black man for once.

You live in Zimbabwe?

I'm still chuggin right along on this democracy train, son.
5 stars for Canadians having feelings on poetv.

I voted against Harper in the early 00s when he was trying to push a lot of neocon military/social agendas just like damn near everyone else did.

That being said, I have nothing against Jack Layton personally, and its very unfortunate that he died, but I'm very glad Canada was not financially hamstrung with 77bn in annual costs that we simply don't have to spare right now.
