Caminante Nocturno - 2011-08-12
Yahtzee has a soft spot for indie games.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2011-08-12
With the huge clusterfuck of Escapist not paying their contributors and siphoning off money from charity drives maybe this will finally end soon.

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-08-12 ESCAPIST SCANDAL ROCK ZERO PUNCTUATION
WILL THIS DESTROY YAHTZEE'S CAREER
WHERE IS JUSTICE FOR LITTLE KAYLEE

NewHeavenSalesman - 2011-08-12 From the corporate greed to the easily exploited "game writers" to the escapist audience flailing about boycotts before going back to business as usual, the only surprising thing about this was realizing that Extra Credits had more than one person working on it.

StanleyPain - 2011-08-13 Short story: the people who did the show Extra Credit left Escapist saying they weren't being paid. Escapist tried to nice it up with lots of "oh it's financial problems" jargon, EC asked the internet if anyone else wasn't being paid, and they got a few responses from other people who contribute or let their stuff be syndicated through Escapist.
As it turns out, lots of info is coming out from EC about how Escapist basically took all their profits and never re-invested them or paid many of their major contributors.
So...in a few months we may very likely see Yahtzee back to being a normal YouTube sort of guy, which would suit me fine.
|
StanleyPain - 2011-08-13 Oh, and also Escapist had a fundraiser to help pay people like EC and other staffers and then pocketed all the money.

Caminante Nocturno - 2011-08-13 If the Escapist disappeared, I doubt Yahtzee would have any trouble being picked up by someone else.
|
fatatty - 2011-08-13 Yeah I'm pretty sure if Angry Video Game Nerd can find publishers, so can Yahtzee.
