Japan's anime, games, and manga offer fantastic and involving escapism from normal life. But what part of real life do they want to escape from?
The Japanese are just sick of the tedious grind. 8 hours a day, for weeks at a time, training constantly to defeat Freeza. You can't blame them for wanting to escape into the glamorous life of an office worker.
Flashback fades and melts away to reveal the grim faced boy is now a grim faced Yakuza hardass reflecting on his past as he reloads.
