Portugal has some of the largest gold reserves in the world, with their current holdings accounting for about .5 billion dollars or roughly 5% of their total external debt. Seems like they might want to start selling off some of that before begging the rest of Europe for about five times that amount... or even just to start reducing their debt load.

I guess they're proud that they never won at Eurovison?
