I'm guessing fake?

Smellvin - 2011-05-06

Yes. The recoil would be substantially more... unless he has He-man-like wrist and tricep strength. Plus, he'd have to pull the trigger four time since the burst wasn't uniform (and full-auto AKs are extremely rare in the US).

sannyasin - 2011-05-06

The recoil of an AK-47 is quite manageable as the round is not that powerful and the weight of the rifle helps to dampen the recoil. Assuming this it true it appears this kid did not follow the most basic gun safety rule which is to keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire the weapon. While he was waving the rifle around he accidently pulled the trigger and when the gun went off he squeezed his grip more tightly to control it causing him to pull the trigger again. Semi-autos will fire as fast as you can pull the trigger. So I would say that it is possible that this isn't fake.

I seriously hope that when his dad got home he either decided to get rid of his guns or teach his idiot son some basic gun safety and bought something to secure his weapons when he isn't around. Both the father and kid failed at gun safety and neither should have or be around firearms until they get some common sense.

I am guessing fake simply because the gun does not seem to have enough inertia when he is swinging it around. I "moves" like an object made of plastic.

Sundry - 2011-05-06

While there are plastic copies of the AK, I don't know if any of them could imitate that muzzle flash.

Chancho - 2011-05-06

An AK-47 sounds nothing like that.

Cheese - 2011-05-06

An AK in a bedroom sounds exactly like that.

Syd Midnight - 2011-05-06

Plus the AK-47 does not share the M-16's unfortunate reputation for misfiring when poorly maintained and waved haphazardly around a filthy bedroom environment.

kingarthur - 2011-05-07

At least one of you reads The War Nerd. I can tell.

Cheese - 2011-05-16

Nah, but I've shot an AK in a small room.

gambol - 2011-05-06

"dont tell my dad I was playing with his guns" is an active tag

Sundry - 2011-05-06

I BELIEVED YOU.

I don't get it.

period

baleen - 2011-05-06

He's not from Brooklyn.

Old People - 2011-05-06

I was in the Army Infantry in Iraq and I don't think that was fake.

GhostKittens - 2011-05-06

Thought the kid's reaction seemed fake, but that muzzle flash seemed genuine. It's also going to be bad news bears for "White Thunder" when his old man comes back from work and gives him a lesson or two on gun control and thug life.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2011-05-07

I want to believe.

SixDigitDebt - 2012-09-22

I'd buy it. While thug white boy gangstas are tantamount to professional character actors, they generally lack the intelligence to simulate being pushed off balance by a large casings going off unexpectedly and repetitiously in their flappy little hand.
