Was there even a shareware version of x-wing? loved this game, couldn't get into tie fighter because of some moral stand against the empire.

Raggamuffin - 2011-04-26 There was definitely a shareware version of TIE Fighter, probably one for X-Wing. Although I was not sure, I figured it deserved some leeway because of how much it rules.

Wait, they give a shot of Artoo instead of showing us the Death Star exploding? Goddamn the special editions!

I kept expecting the space cops to pull Luke over and start asking how many drinks he's had tonight.

After all that nauseous jerking around I was at least hoping for a big boom. :(
Oh well, X-wing was still remarkably fun. Though I found TIE Fighter a lot more, because I loved scanning ships for rebels and destroying them.

An all time classic but godamn was it HARD. If you died it would delete your pilot file so you always had to have it backed up on floppy.

So many memories. I remember being blown away by the outrageous 12 megs of harddrive space it wanted. I found the text files that control the narration, status and other messages and had endless hours of fun making them say absurd things. I always hated how they added those extra architectural bits to the trench run, though.
