As imperfect as Obama and the Democrats are, at least they aren't trying to roll America back to the 1890s. Step 1 is to neutralize the Republicans; Step 2 is to improve the Democratic Party. If you insist on jumping straight to Step 2, well, you get the 2000 election or the 2010 election, with massive Republican gains. Step 2 is likely to happen largely on its own anyway, in the process of performing Step 1.

There are certainly some stupid liberals out there. There's one video where a guy is asking liberals if they think Obama is a Keynesian and they all yell at him like he's asking if Obama is a Kenyan.

Though I guarantee none of these people would know what Keynesianism is either, except maybe evil socialism if Hannity told them so.

And liberals are certainly less hateful. They just hate war and homophobes, which is essentially hating hate.

Ive heard a lot of radically liberal people say exceedingly dumb things, some of them on this site. Radicalism is stupid, any ideology pushed to the degree that you impose fascist rules, whether out of greed or out of a misplaced sense of social justice (con vs dem), is a recipe for civil unrest. It's less about sides and more about people deciding to think for themselves on all issues and not simply look at what a democrat or republican is SUPPOSED to be like and arbitrarily decide every set of values they possess must be mirrored in yourself.

It used to be about big vs small government, today it seems the majority of either party are ignorant to what that even means and simply go by their social issue opinions or which state they were born in to decide which party they belong in.
