Why is it that they are (almost) all fat?
They should be afraid of Type II Diabetes.

Let me hazard a guess (and I could be wrong). Many come from poor households where they don't have the money/time to cook. They might have a chance to eat a healthy lunch at school, but school lunches in the States have too many tater tots, pizza slices, hamburgers, corn, applesauce, etc.

Mostly Pi - 2011-03-28

More like they come from middle class households of people descended from the poor. Just like the most of the middle class in America, they got better jobs and acquired more leisure time, but kept the traditional diets of men and women who work in fields and mines for 14 hours a day... and by kept I mean, we eat a modified, mass produced version of that food that's been FLAVOR BLASTED with extra shit, to make it keep longer and be tastier.

Lots of calories + sedentary lifestyle= children shaped like snowmen, adults shaped like garbage bags full of pudding.

Three stars, because it looks like kids are going back to being kids. Not really exceptional, but at least they seem normal and well adjusted, which is much better than those retard sociopaths that make up the latter half of Gen Y

While they aren't moving so much because they have cars and don't work in heavy labor necessarily, they are also eating garbage and eating lots of it. The food they are eating is high in fat, sugar, fructose and salt. They are not eating any fresh food, and if they are average Americans, they are only consuming 6-7 grams of fiber a day, which is not nearly enough to combat obesity.

I just got this great job at a company that sells cedar kits for building school gardens (raised beds, planters, etc.). We have contracts to build over 4,000 school gardens. Things aren't so bad.

Pretty much everything in this video says "These are nine year olds."

themilkshark - 2011-03-28

When I was 9 I only liked Ninja Turtles, Mario and Batman.

I'm 28 and often see 9 year olds who like Ninja Turtles, Mario and Batman.

also, I don't know who Brittany Spears is.

Xenocide - 2011-03-28

I am sorry about the lost aircraft but not overmuch. The war is temporary. But Batman and Mario go on forever.

Jet Bin Fever - 2011-03-28

These kids are actually way better spoken and informed than a lot of millennium kids out there. Just ask any elementary school teacher these days. But I guess bad parenting is a timeless tradition.

Oh, also I feel really old now and it's my birthday today. hoorah.

Happy Birthday to You

Happy Birthday to You

Happy Birthday Jet Bin Fever

Happy Birthday to You

TeenerTot - 2011-03-28

And you smell like one, too!

mashedtater - 2011-03-29

happy birthday!

Mostly Pi - 2011-03-28

Didn't so much shred my worldview, as it did fall on it after having a major coronary event.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2011-03-28

I envy anyone that doesn't know who Brittany Spears is.

Walker - 2011-03-29

Psh. These kids don't know the sound of dial-up? My 3 year old doesn't remember a life before the iPhone. He assumes that all phones can take photos, watch youtube videos of Thomas the Tank Engine and play Angry Birds.

sosage - 2011-03-29

What do you mean nine year olds don't remember how shit was eight to fifteen years ago?!?!?!

kingofthenothing - 2011-03-29

Preposterous, right? This probably really bothers conservatives, who are always trying to turn back the clock. They see this forward momentum and it pains them.

flotsam - 2011-05-28

Five stars for the ending. I didn't think that kids these days would talk about the Bloody Mary legend or Bigfoot. It's nice to see that some things never change.
