Leonard Part 6 had marketing tie-ins?

MacGyver Style Bomb - 2011-03-24

I'm amazed that I remember this, but there was a tie-in with the Ponderosa Steakhouse chain involving those tiny 110 cameras. I gotta find the ad, it was awful.

LEONARD??!!!

kingarthur - 2011-03-24

LEONARD?!?!?!?!

StanleyPain - 2011-03-24

LEONARD!!!!!!

Riskbreaker - 2011-03-23

I'm just glad they never did the prequels.

Seven Arts/H8 Red - 2011-03-23

It would have made more sense for Leonard Part 6 to be an Action Max "game," so you could shoot the shitty plot points and/or Bill Cosby.

Udderdude - 2011-03-23

Action Max was a horrible, terrible bad idea that never should have been made.

And hey, so was this movie!

Jet Bin Fever - 2011-03-23

Bullshit. They could've easily fit in at least 2 or 3 more products in that. Amateurs.

Lurchi - 2011-03-24

I had to look up Action Max:

Action Max is a console using VHS tapes for games. It was created in 1987 by Worlds of Wonder.

The system required its owner to also have a VCR, as the console did not have a way to play tapes itself. Using a light gun (or two for 2-player games) players would shoot at the screen. To make this work a red sensor first had to be connected to the television screen, which would flash a circle when something on the screen was targetable. The gaming was strictly point-based and dependent on shot accuracy. Players could not truly "lose" or "win" a game. This, along with the fact that the only real genre on the system were light gun games that played exactly the same way every time, greatly limited the system's appeal and lead to its quick downfall.

The Action Max had a very limited release outside the US and only one PAL game is suspected to have been made.

Like the Fairchild Channel F, this unit had an internal speaker.

I like how the kid was using a pistol to down F-16s.

chumbucket - 2011-03-24

Makes me wonder why they used "Action" in the title of the product.

FABIO - 2011-03-24

So it was a shitty version of Captain Power?

StanleyPain - 2011-03-24

And Captain Power was at least self contained..all the hardware was in the gun and it cost probably 80% less than the Action Max crap.

Lurchi - 2011-03-24

goddamn it now I have to look up Captain Power

FABIO - 2011-08-24

SOMEONE just dated themself.

Every kid of the late 80s knew Captain Power.

spikestoyiu - 2011-03-24

I had an Action Max.

I dunno, I'd still pop in Pops Ghostly if I still had it.

But yeah, it was bad.
