Spit Spingola - 2011-01-26

Haha oh man.

citrusmirakel - 2011-01-26

Yup, pretty much.

NewHeavenSalesman - 2011-01-26

If there's a worse character on tv than Debra, I don't want to hear about it.

PegLegPete - 2011-01-26

Got bored sometime near the end of the second season, somehow watched until the beginning of four. Probably wont ever attempt to watch again.

NewHeavenSalesman - 2011-01-26

I'd stick to the end of the fourth season, as Lithgow's performance is pretty entertaining. At the very least, the fourth season is eons above the third's "DO I HAVE A FRIEND" bullshit.

Fifth season pissed me off for promising me Peter Weller as a guest star, then having him onscreen for literally two minutes per episode.

Time Travel Mishap - 2011-01-27

also during season 4 you see Lithgow's ass. so thats something.

dek863 - 2011-01-26

Haha, I liked this. I like Dexter but it definitely can be formulaic.

Siebenstein - 2011-01-26

Now I feel stupid for having liked this until this past season.

spikestoyiu - 2011-01-26

I hated the last season, but I'll still watch the next one. That said, this was pretty great.

American Standard - 2011-01-26

I checked out early, end of the first episode. The head flying out the truck window, my rolling eyes, and the click of the remote were simultaneous.

oddeye - 2011-01-26

This show is so fucking bad.

StanleyPain - 2011-01-26

Pretty good.
The show started out strong, but like almost all TV shows nowadays, is based on a premise that cannot possibly sustain more than 2, maybe 3, seasons worth, so of course, they milk it until it is just a ridiculous parody of itself.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2011-01-26

The only way this could possibly be improved would be including something how disgustingly fetishistic the show's treatment of the murders is and how the glorification of Dexter is matched only by the sheer number of hoops it jumps through to make the actual police and court system look incompetent.

Smellvin - 2011-01-26

That's a pretty good point. The REAL US justice system doesn't need anyone helping point out how flawed and incompetent it is when it can do so well on its own.

I keep hoping that Dexter will get caught and they'll have a season or so on the fallout of that eventuality.

Squeamish - 2011-01-26

BUT I'M A FRIENDLY GHOOOOOOOOOST

Yeah. I watched three episodes of Dexter. I still want those three hours back.

twinkieafternoon - 2011-01-27

OK, I'm finally taking credit for all of this:

Back in college, so many years ago, I invented (YES, INVENTED) on my then-blog named Make Me Some Cocoa (no longer on the internet, because I realized that blogs are lame) "TV Shows in Ten Seconds." My friends all pitched in their ideas for TV Show dialogue that could sum up the show/go on between two characters or more in less than or equal to ten seconds, and it was a pretty fun ride. This was many years ago.

Now that things like this are popping up all over Youtube, I feel regret and dissapointment. Regret that I didn't cash in better, or have better (re: any) video equipment, and dissapointment that these numbskulls always need more than ten seconds. The original idea was ten seconds! THEY STOLE MY IDEAS AND THEN THEY POOPED ON THEM--MY BEAUTIFUL IDEAS.

Also, I've heard Dexter is all right, but not that good, so I won't watch it likely.

twinkieafternoon - 2011-01-27

That wasn't meant to be a reply to you. You aren't who I'm mad at, Squeamish.

bongoprophet - 2011-01-26

I really prefer the books to the series.

Dexter is comfortable with not having any feelings besides a hunger for huge sandviches and complaining about the Miami traffic and all his smug internal dialogue is about is making puns only he can hear.

also, in the later ones he has started to teach his stepchildren to be killers.

that said, the writing is average at best.

mashedtater - 2011-01-28

the part where he started to teach his step children to be killers is where i had to step out.

i cant stomach that kind of thing

klingerbgoode - 2012-07-11

The show is definitely more annoying than the books, but the books are pretty poorly written.

zerobackup - 2011-01-26

I still like the show even though it's definitely uneven at times.

theSnake - 2011-01-26

Dexter owns, five stars for Masuka's laugh

Hooker - 2011-01-28

I've watched [number] of [episodes/seasons]. Here are my opinions on them.

Baldr - 2011-01-28

I partially concede to your opinion, but defend my continued viewing by pointing to an event that occurred in [episode] of [seasons +1].
