I watched the first episode with (muted but) high hopes that McMahon would capitalize on the ECW fanbase by showing a decent version of the stiff Calgary-and-Japan style that Paul Heyman had popularized in the 90s.
Then I saw this match flop in front of an audience leftover from that evening's SMACKDOWN taping.
Angle was a lot of fun to watch that night, though; wish he'd stuck around.
