I've modded the hell out of my New Vegas so far but I've completely avoided all the naked porn and anime clothing+hair mods that seem to be all over the damn place.

I can recommend the build-a-bot mod, FOOK, Fellout and the companion teleporter above all else.

Minigun is awesome. Fatman is awesome. Put them together.... interesting, but not quite as awesome as the individual parts...

I'd love to rate higher, but this is nothing terribly cool.

I brought the holy hand grenades and fatman to the battle at Hoover Dam.

First the grenades always seemed to blow up "sideways" with the mushroom clouds going more horizontally than vertical.

Then firing the fatman in VATS crashed the game.

So I'd be weary of using a mod that lets you fire that many mini-nukes at once.
