People old enough to not have played Oregon Trail would have been introduced to computers at a point late enough that there would have been more than 3 games for them, so there wouldn't be one game they're all familiar with.
My most vivid memory of Oregon Trail is naming my entire party after childish dirty words and seeing "Your Dick has died of a snake bite" alongside a picture of settlers weeping over a grave.
