I wish more politicians would be brave enough to approve the words coming directly out of their mouths.

pastorofmuppets - 2010-08-12

someone needs to whip some sense into that boy

Chalkdust - 2010-08-12

Benjamin, I served with Dan Quayle, I knew Dan Quayle, Dan Quayle was a friend of mine. Benjamin, you're no Dan Quayle.

The funny thing is Republicans love bringing that humiliation back by themselves, replacing Reagan with Kennedy. Whenever its touted that Obama's approval ratings are much higher than Reagan's during Reagan's recession years, for instance.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2010-08-12

I don't understand this trend: Palin, Ron Paul Jr., the Tea Partiers, and now Ben Quayle.

When did the GOP decide that brain damage and delusional psychosis were going to be their prerequisites for their party's candidates?

cognitivedissonance - 2010-08-12

They basically just REALLY REALLY REALLY want monarchy back. Maybe if we give them a meaningless figurehead, they'll leave us alone?

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-08-12

I've started to suspect that a lot of it is done largely out of bitter spite.

kingarthur - 2010-08-12

Well, they've certainly worked their fear-magic on me. I'm terrified one of the bastards will actually get into office.

Bort - 2010-08-12

You're looking at it all wrong. When you and I evaluate candidates, we want someone who can identify a problem, weigh alternatives, and choose a course of action that can effectively deal with the problem. Let's call that overall capability "competence". The GOP hasn't been about competence since 1998 or even earlier; their game is selling their platform, whether or not it tracks with reality, and the one trait a candidate needs is the ability to confidently say anything the sales pitch requires, no matter how insane.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2010-08-12

I see an airport men's room in this guy's future.

roughnready66 - 2010-08-12

The GOP is a party of celebrity. They're big on actors, war heroes, and famous children. It's what you have to do when reason and common sense are not on your side.

Go back to your golf course.

phalsebob - 2010-08-12

This is a joke, no?

Toenails - 2010-08-12

I thought it was a poem...

My Commercial, by Ben Qualye

Barak Obama is the worst president in history
My Generation will inherent a weakened country
Drug Cartels in Mexico
Tax Cartels in D.C.
What happened to America?
I love Arizona,
I was raised right
Somebody has to go Washington,
and knock the hell out of the place.

My Name is Ben Qualye, and I approved this message.

...I'm not an Creative Writing teacher so I won't grade it, but it's not any worse than the poems I wrote in college.

wtf japan - 2010-08-12

dek863 - 2010-08-12

If Ayn Rand wrote poetry it would be exactly like this and exactly this bad.

chumbucket - 2010-08-12

hey how many "don't tread on me" statements can I make in one ad?

1. "worst president in history"
2. My Generation
3. Mexico
4. Tax Cartels
5. love Arizona
6. raised right
7. somebody has to go
8. knock the hell out
9. I approved

answer = 9

roughnready66 - 2010-08-12

Notice how he blinks four times during his opening sentence. This man needs some acting lessons. If you are going to say something incendiary, at least pretend that YOU believe it.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2010-08-12

Oh lordy, this IS the son of Dan Quayle.

kingofthenothing - 2010-08-12

He looks a lot like Anakin, but that don't make him the Chosen One.

glenn - 2010-08-13

No, it's exactly like Anakin, complete with the date rapist stare.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2010-08-12

Someone at the Huffington Post made the perfect comment about this: This just goes to prove that Dumb and mean is the new Dumb.

The keep telling us that Barak Obama is the worst president in history, because they want us all to forget that George Bush was the worst president in history.

Rum Revenge - 2010-08-13

Yeah, everything was fine until Obama invented drugs and taxes!

Nyms Lives! - 2010-08-16

I'm Ben Quayle and if you look in my eyes you can see that I am dead inside. If you elect me, I will protect you from mexicans and negros with my death gaze. Elect me for god-king of Arizona or I will turn my gaze upon you. I'm Ben Quayle and this message has been approved for me.

I'm Ben Quayle.

I'm Ben Quayle.

I'm.

Ben.

Quayle.
