Whelp.
Looks like I'll have to start getting back into comics now and find out what this Goon guy is all about.

a flaming monkey - 2010-07-22 I am a Jerkmancer. Level 5. Thinking of going pro. But I know my comics, and I have opinions. So here is mine: The Goon is OK except when it's trying to be funny, which is most of the time. That's just how I feel. Flame me all you want, you penile rapists.

The Goon is quite an enjoyable read, take On the Waterfront, add some noir style elements of the femme fatale and expressionistic shadows and a heaping of Hellboy and old EC Comics, sprinkle some Sam and Max style humor and you have it. There's a reason it's won a couple Eisner awards...
Wow this came out of left field, I had no idea they were working on this. The addition of the Kurgan/Mr. Crab only seals the deal. Here's hoping for some over the top axe-tion.

The Great Hippo - 2010-07-21 It's a comic about two depression-era thugs beating the unliving shit out of zombies. With tommy-guns and monkey wrenches.
It's literally impossible to fuck that up.

aikimoe - 2010-07-22 They aren't "wacky heroes." They are gangsters and murderers with mostly tragic backgrounds and they fight the zombies, cannibals, ghosts, hags, robots, and giant rats that live around town. There is an undead old western sheriff cursed to live off the flesh of the dead as he seeks revenge against the Zombie Priest. It transcends genre.

Damnation, I had no idea this was going to exist! I lust violently over the thought of a 3D version of the Goon / Hellboy team-up.

This looks fun. Hopefully, it turns out well, but Blur has one hell of a reputation, so I'm looking forward to it.

I never read the comic, and there's a solid chance that I will see this (possibly even in the theaters), but there's no way that this movie will do well.

Oh man. I thought this got shelved for Fincher's Facespace or whateverthefuck movie, I am super excited now.
A little disappointed, though- to me Franky will always sound like Joe Pesci. Or more accurately, like Tom Kenny as Abe Lincoln in the flag-shitting sketch on Mr. Show.

The Goon comic is all kinds of awesome. It reminds me of "Cerebus" before Dave Simm had his unfortunate meltdown.
Excellent voice choice for Goon. In my head, though, Franky always sounded like Steve Buscemi.
Giamatti seems to work well, though.
