Scamtastic!

pastorofmuppets - 2010-07-16

That graph with all the people... it looks like one of those high school geometry shapes, like a cylinder, maybe? Screw it, I'm a be a male Avon lady!

Chalkdust - 2010-07-16

okay, I lost it when he was rehearsing his Deepak Chopra pitch. Episodes like these are almost worth the... you know, the other ones.

And then Kevin Pollack was there!

facek - 2010-07-16

My stars are for "Platitudinous," I need to use it more often.

FeeFiFoFoTheFifeFifeBrown - 2010-07-16

The easier the target, the more they succeed!

Amazing!

SolRo - 2010-07-16

Listen, if you're stupid enough to fall for multi-level marketing, at least do it by becoming an insurance agent. You're still being used but there's actual money to be made from a 3rd party instead of just trying to find 1000 people as stupid as yourself.

Doctor Arcane - 2010-07-16

Wait, so I can go to a Man Cave event and get free beer and meat and I don't have to buy shit?

pastorofmuppets - 2010-07-16

I haven't been to one but if they're like Tupperware parties, then it's going to be your friend throwing it, so you'd get something small to at least repay them for the "party."

This still beats the Windows 7 party though:

phalsebob - 2010-07-16

MANway.

CharlesSmith - 2010-07-16

People who complain about Bullshit being solely a libertarian screed have probably only seen the one episode on Wal-Mart or something. The show is only about 60% psychic debunking show 40% libertarian propaganda. Compare that to the evening news, which is closer to 99% propaganda, with a mere 1% psychic debunking.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2010-07-16

Only the one on Wal-Mart.

...or recycling.
...or environmentalism.
...or handicapped parking.
...or any time they haul yet another "expert" from the CATO institute.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2010-07-16

The problem is that they're shitty debunkers too. They rarely use actual science or logic, they just trot out some crazy guy who supports the "wrong" side, have him say dumb shit, then Penn goes "HOLY FUCK WHAT A MORON, WHAT KIND OF DICKBALL FUCKWIT WOULD EVER BELIEVE THIS CRAPPY BULLCRAP?!"and then at the end he gives some impassioned speech to the audience and then they show some tits. The fact that they think that taxes and handicapped parking spaces deserve as much scrutiny as psychics and homeopathy is just icing on the shit cake.

badideasinaction - 2010-07-16

Came here to say what WHO WANTS DESSERT said. Their debunking is mostly by force of yelling as opposed to anything scientific. I'm not expecting a physics lecture but reverse their opinion and they'd sound like all the shrill people out there campaigning against vaccinations and fluoride.

tmavomodry - 2010-07-16

Waits, there's tits?

boner - 2010-07-16

I'm ok with P&T because they at least do not try to disguise their biases, and Penn calls himself carny trash who got out of high school on a plea bargain. They also demonstrate nothing but respect for the real scientists.

Syd Midnight - 2010-07-16

CharlesSmith forgot that this episode is just a lead-up to exposing the biggest pyramid scheme of all: SOCIAL SECURITY!

And they don't debunk psychics, they pick easy targets and laugh at them. Bullshit is designed to be watched by people who already agree with what Penn & Teller think. It's jackoff fodder.

RESPECT SCIENCE! *skews science to prove second hand smoke is harmless* CRITICAL THINKING! *listens uncritically to 5 minute speech from the Cato Institute*

Bort - 2010-11-10

"They also demonstrate nothing but respect for the real scientists."

Hey look, here's Penn & Teller debunking global warming:

I dropped by from 10 years in the future to show my time travel field trip class what an idiot Charlessmith was.

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-07-16

Right up the man cave.

Spit Spingola - 2010-07-16

Really the pitch works better if you don't know who Deepak Chopra is.

spikestoyiu - 2010-07-16

Well thank God we've got the infinite wisdom and shouting of Penn Jillette to FINALLY expose us to the evils of MLMs.

Also, such my dick, CharlesSmith.

Lindner - 2010-07-16

Yeah! Such my dick too!

Proofreading, guy. It's your friend.

spikestoyiu - 2010-07-16

Shut up.

I just re-read that six times.

CharlesSmith - 2010-11-01

Whatever you want dude, consider your dick "such".

Riskbreaker - 2010-07-16

I'm not a fan of Penn & Teller's libertarian rants, but watching these people eat up these scams makes these clips worth every second of them. You would think that people at some point will realize they are not getting any money whatsoever, but the promise of the "big bucks" is the carrot at the end of the stick.

memedumpster - 2010-07-16

I am disappointed as hell that "Man Cave" is not a fallout shelter. As for this show, some episodes are decent, the NASA episode was surprising, and the rest is sort of dick and tits intermingled with "HOLY FUCK" being shouted in a strange soup in my memory.

Old_Zircon - 2010-07-16

The PETA one is OK, too, but in general this show is pretty unbearable.
