I recall one of the members (maybe Terry Jones) say that they had women dressed like men because they used to actually do that in the times of stoning so the women could participate.

Camonk - 2010-07-08

So... the premise of the scene, then.

IrishWhiskey - 2010-07-08

That, and men dressing as women using silly voices is one of the founding principles of British comedy. That the women the men are dressed as, are dressed as men, is no impediment.

HarrietTubmanPI - 2010-07-08

I think they were going to do this regardless before someone did some research and found out that this stuff really happened.

Innocent Bystander - 2010-07-08

Not here yet!?

Also haven't seen LoB in a while. If this clip is any indication, it holds up.

cognitivedissonance - 2010-07-08

I haven't seen it in ages either, it's the only Python movie my teenage self didn't commit to memory and endlessly quote at inappropriate occasions.

Camonk - 2010-07-08

It totally holds up. Unquestionably. Especially since most nerds don't have it memorized. (I do. I ain't proud of it.)

boner - 2010-07-08

This movie could have been written yesterday. And you'd still need one of the Beatles to mortgage his house to pay for it.

That guy - 2010-07-08

One of the best movies ever made, is how it holds up.

Candlejackv616 - 2010-07-09

Definatly holds up well, always been my favorite of the Python films, that and it hasn't been ruined for me like Holy Grail was by endless retards quoting it into the ground.

I can't even watch that movie anymore with out cringing and thinking about the endless douche bags in high school who quoted the shit out of it, funny movie...but I just cant watch it anymore.

cognitivedissonance - 2010-07-09

As far as I'm concerned, there are only two PERFECT movies, and one is Blazing Saddles, and the other is Life of Brian. If nothing else of the 20th century survives, let it be these two movies.

chumbucket - 2010-07-08

perfect closing showing the two disinterested Roman guards. genius

StanleyPain - 2010-07-08

One of whom is Charles McKeown

StanleyPain - 2010-07-08

One of my favorite bits, and the old man is perfectly cast. I love this routine. This was also the very first thing filmed for the movie, too. (python geek trivia off)

fluffy - 2010-07-08

I am glad that endlessly-quoting nerds haven't ruined this movie for me.

athodyd - 2010-07-08

Life of Brian is exponentially better than Holy Grail even taking into account that it doesn't get quoted to death by nerds.

memedumpster - 2010-07-09

Easily.

rroach - 2010-07-09

BOY SURE GLAD THIS MOVIE HASN'T BEEN QUOTED TO DEATH, EH GUYS?
