That's not bad. I someone times have trouble with my neti pot where it goes down my throat instead of into the other nostril and occasionally the mucus is thick enough that gravity won't even pull the water through my sinus. I'm really thinking about getting one of these. Thanks PoeTV!

spikestoyiu - 2010-06-14 Yeah, I hate to distract from the hilarity of the video, but it's got me considering upgrading from my neti pot.

I want to see these studies for myself.
I still believe this stuff is only a gimmick (just like breathe right strips). Why? Because it's really only treating the symptoms and not the cause of why you get a lot of snot and boogers at night. Snot and boogers and irritated noses are just products of allergens and pollutants in the air. Remove those, and in theory you shouldn't have a problem. They also accumulate more during sleep because you're not actively picking at your nose or blowing it, and if you sleep on your side what would be spread across two nostrils goes into one.
As for breathe right strips, well you're really just making the volume bigger so the amount of stuff to clog it will have to be bigger, but you'd be surprised how quickly it can fill up in spite of a change of volume.
Again, I'd like to see these studies they keep mentioning.

spikestoyiu - 2010-06-14 For whatever weirdo reason, this year I was walloped by an awful sinus infection. After a few trips to the GP, I was told that I'd have to continue using a nasal steroid as long as the symptoms last. At worst it's an inconvenience, but whatever: it works and I feel better. A friend also gave me a neti pot which he had never used, so I figured I'd give it a whirl. I have to say that there's a notable difference when using the neti pot in conjunction with the nasal spray. I don't know exactly what's going on, but I can't argue with the results.

Rovin - 2010-06-14 I believe the solution also acts as a disinfectant as well as cleaning out snot and boogers. As such, with regular use you probably have less nasty organisms in there that don't get caught in said snot and boogers awaiting a chance to make you sick or cause a sinus infection.

Rovin - 2010-06-14 boner - if the snot and hairs were really all they're cracked up to be, would airborne communicable diseases really be as common as they are?

kennydra - 2010-06-14 how are breathe right strips a gimmick? those dont even treat the same thing as a neti pot. i use them not infrequently because i have allergies and they help to keep my nasal passages open making it easier to sleep. i don't have any excess mucus in my sinus, they just get slightly inflamed, making the passage smaller. even right now my sinuses are a little constricted and i can just pull on the sides of my nose a little and i instantly breathe easier. i can't imagine how a breathe right strip would help with congestion or a sinus infection.

Thanks to my own sinus infection and drug haze, I've read some of these comments as 'irrigating your sinus puppies.'

I've been using an Ayr irrigator (available at most major drug store chains) on and off for the last few years, and it's way less awkward to hold than one of these.

But what happens if you bring a date back to your place, she see's the neti pot in the bathroom and immediately conjures the image of you, smiling manically as a stream of snot pours like a waterfall out of your expansive sinus cavity?
That said, I think I'm gonna pick one up.
