You know, I remember my parents toaster when I was a kid popping toast really high, like it sometimes falling onto the floor even, but every toaster since then has popped it less and less high.
I don't know if thats something I should lament or not.
I don't care how inconvenient it was, if you were at Sears and saw a box that said "Toast Cannon : Shoots 120ft.!" you'd buy it. It could have a picture of the kids chasing flying toast with proud parents standing behind them, outside for some reason.
