The Big Lebowski is probably the most overrated movie of my lifetime (thus far). I don't understand why it has a cult following and equally proportionate movies (like "Armed and Dangerous" or "Spalsh") don't garner the same sort of fawning and praise. I'd be happy if someone just made a sequel to the Big Lebowski and sully its rock star status.
That being said, I voted it out of the hopper and five starred it because I actually like this video.

zerobackup - 2010-03-07 I'm not quite sure why my friend and I went to see this movie in theaters, probably because he loves bowling and it looked funny. We were 16 when we first saw it, a couple years later we found ourselves watching it every weekend for months. It became the movie we had on in the background during parties, we started quoting it to eachother. My whole circle of friends was doing this for a while. I've seen it probably 100 times and I could watch it again right now. The dialogue is very dense, many of the jokes are quite subtle, the camerawork and composition in each shot is quite striking, it is clearly the work of some thoughtful filmmakers. Yes I am a fan.
Who gives a shit about Splash?

BIlly Mays Here - 2010-03-07 ...actually made something reasonably clever and intelligent, which was then run into the ground by a million "HAHA WHAT IF DIE HARD WAS DONE BY SHAKESPEARE?!" talentless hacks trying to piggyback it.
Also, apparently the guy who wrote Two Gentlemen of Lebowski got a book deal and is already writing a second book which is a shot-by-shot cinematic analysis of Ghostbusters.

He's got the right cadence for all 3 dudes, but it's his Walter impersonation that got me to vote this up in the hopper. It's spot on. I would swear it was John Goodman if my eyes were closed.

It's a great thing, and this is a good performance of it. I hope that the actual staged productions of this that are going on around the country are half this good.
