Whoa. Like a movie.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2010-02-16

Where do I fast forward to the money shot?

Tameriaen - 2010-02-16

There is no immediate money shot, were it not for a simple black box with text, you would have no idea any murder had taken place. The work of professionals indeed.

GeneralJameson - 2010-02-16

I love it when a plan comes together.

Tuan Jim - 2010-02-16

Holy fuck.

Tuan Jim - 2010-02-16

Also, did anyone notice that the actual killers were two large, fat-over-muscle guys who totally looked the park of being the heavies for the job?

sosage - 2010-02-16

Whoa indeed.

svraz - 2010-02-16

Am I the only one impressed at how quickly the Dubai authourities were able to put this together. (Don't get me wrong, I dislike despotic-robber baron-gangster paradise-hyper capitalist-worker abusing states as much as the next guy. That being said, this was pretty nifty detective work done really fast.)

The Mothership - 2010-02-16

Yes indeed, but once it was recognized that a crime was committed it was merely a process of working backwards using the tapes and security records. Although whoever figured out that they were not using mobile phones to communicate is pretty clever; must have searched cell-tower records for a call made at a place and time where one of them was on a 'phone' and found a black hole.

oh, and stars for the hit-squaddie's gloves.

Camonk - 2010-02-16

Right, I was impressed how they pieced together who was in the team and their movements.

Camonk - 2010-02-16

Man, you make it seem like going through hours of footage at multiple hotels and over every entry into the country through the airport is EASY.

Frank Rizzo - 2010-02-16

the GUI they made using print spoolers was key.

svraz - 2010-02-16

I was just thinking about this. I don't think that the Dubai security apparatus is more skilled than most well financed security agencies in the world. What makes this unique is that went public with their info.. The question is then why did they go so public with their intelligence? Are they trying to embaress someone?

svraz - 2010-02-16

(Embarrass)
cont'd
Now I know the obvious answer is that they are trying to embarrass "Mossad/Israel" , but I think they are friendly with that regime. Is it a case of "fuck you for not letting us know" or "fuck off we are trying to do business here".

Tuan Jim - 2010-02-16

Very clearly the latter.

badideasinaction - 2010-02-16

You forgot option #3: "Dear Hamas, we were not aware of this, nor were we complicit in this. Please do not go blowing up our shiny new tower."

But 5 stars for being damn impressive. Bonus points for them picking up the rolling surveillance detail, but from that article above maybe that's enough Mossad MO that they knew to look for it.

APE_GOD - 2010-02-16

I'm not convinced of any nifty detective work here. I can't make sense of the significance of half of what they are showing me, or how it relates to the text they've written.

Also that they present the passports they traced as if they are actually the identities of the assassins is either sloppy or specious.

All of those passports were found to be fraudulent and claiming that they are the product of an investigation is misleading.

And of course, given its singular interest in tourism the emerate has an enormous interest in handling or appearing to handle this issue as quickly as possible.

Don't be so credulous.

klingerbgoode - 2010-02-17

that sounds about right

MacGyver Style Bomb - 2010-02-16

Well, this makes travel a lot more interesting.

thirteen3seven - 2010-02-16

That is impressive in both the execution (hah) and the detective work involved.

godot - 2010-02-16

Clearly spy-thrillers seriously lack enough rolling luggage and baseball caps. I always thought characters sporting both looked suspicious.

Also, Gail is pretty hot in contacts and black or blonde wig. She can come up to my hotel room any time.

Sundry - 2010-02-16

I noticed a few random persons had their faces pixelated, like the guy Kevin stalled.

Key witnesses?

La Loco - 2010-02-16

Half a hour with no sound, and no violence yet I was still at the edge of my seat.

Severian - 2010-02-16

Wow

RockBolt - 2010-02-16

Wow, how did they leave the door locked from the inside?

Sundry - 2010-02-16

Using the door that connected it to the adjoining room?

If not, there's a trick you can do with floss and a fake-fart trick ballon.

Miskimo - 2010-02-16

MacGyver, noooooooo!

Chancho - 2010-02-16

You are assuming they were in the room.

James Woods - 2010-02-17

That they were in the room is unquestionable, that they used the door for entry is not. Those execution teams looked like pretty good climbers to me. We only see them go down the hall, maybe they just go in to room 230 to make their ascent and breach the room. Perhaps the additional suspects they are looking for were the belay team on the roof. The cleanup guy was there for a while and he could have had a replacement window pane in his luggage.

who knows. fun to think about though.

James Woods - 2010-02-16

I strongly recommend listening to the Dark Knight soundtrack while watching this. Start with "why so serious?".

Man, how did this get out?

James Woods - 2010-02-16

seriously though. Que. up track two of the Dark Knight official soundtrack and hit play on both at the same time. It's eerily good. It doesn't match 100% but when it matches it's awesome, and often enough.

Broose182 - 2010-02-22

I was listening to Dethklok and "Go Forth and Die" came on before they murdered him, so that was pretty weird. And by weird I mean a bit cool.

abeli$con - 2010-02-16

boring troll

oogaBooga - 2010-02-16

Continuing to cement our very low opinions of you.

APE_GOD - 2010-02-16

Five stars because all of the passports they used were fake, the majority of the team didn't leave any trail whatever (not even a fraudulent one) and as of now every single one of them is at large.

Jeriko-1 - 2010-02-17

If MI6 had a hand in this I hope they damn well realize they just potentially put the lives of British citizens at risk.

Blowback fucking sucks.

James Woods - 2010-02-17

My guess is Israel stole European identities knowing the identity's would eventually be claimed and there would be no blowback to british citizens.

klingerbgoode - 2010-02-17

i think it's time to blow this scene
Get everybody and their stuff together
OK 3 2 1 Let's jam

APE_GOD - 2010-02-17

Bless you, sir.

Broose182 - 2010-02-22

Dang

Naugaskins - 2011-03-03

This makes me wonder about who I am getting into elevators with in all of the casinos that I visit.
