You're probably right. I usually fixate on the amazing track "23" as representative of BR, when its a bit of an outlier. This is not deep in the cul-de-sacs of twee, pure-texture, or noise-pop, and is a good deal more tuneful than the US indie shoegaze scene (to my years at any rate), and I thought of "23" immediately.
Incidentally, I only discovered this because the director Andrew Huang has done some interesting greenscreen/cgi hybrid demos and music videos for other musicians.
More like pretty boring people. It sounds like a lot of 90's indie rock I hated at the time and forgot about completely until now.
