Merzbau - 2010-01-07 Yeah, if the 80's sounded more like the Blockheads, Dury, Jankel etc the world would be a better place today.
It looks like this is going to go for a lot of the standard musician biopic crap, big tearful moments, etc (and it uses the word "inspirational" in the trailer, for fuck's sake, I think that would've given Dury a rage-stroke) but Serkis could be amazing, and the performance scenes (and the non-IMPORTANT LIFE LESSONS stuff) looks great.
Also, forget Gollum and King Kong, the same man has now played Martin Hannett and Ian Dury. Well done, Mr. Serkis.

You can't do a proper film about Ian without including his Unicef trips to Africa and last years, performing great new music sick on stage.
You don't need to splash-up Ian at all like they seem to be doing here, but it still looks respectful.
