Sure, its a stereotype. But at least its plausible unlike, I'm guessing, the entire rest of the episode.

I'd love to hear how attacking an internet provider takes down power generators throughout DC. Just not enough to watch the show.

RocketBlender - 2009-12-19

It didn't. The set up explosives elsewhere to take down the power. The reason they were attacking the provider was to replace one of their servers with one of their own that would let them have a backdoor into any network connected to the internet through them, namely the pentagon (NCIS takes place in DC). The power outage was just so they could replace the hardware without any flags going up, and to throw people off of their goal.

Still not plausible, but fun nonetheless. NCIS is a hilarious barrage of TV tropes from start to finish.

dementomstie - 2009-12-19

Yeah, no matter how much I want to hate NCIS sometimes I love it for the fact that they get they're just an action TV show and mock themselves rather constantly, and it's still a good action show with surprisingly deep writing. This show is able to pull off year long story arches(sometimes longer, one story arch had a minor recurring character from one season revealed to be a spy after being in the background for at least a year), any show that does that I'm willing to over look the goofier aspects of their show.

RocketBlender - 2009-12-19

I really liked the subplot they ran for several weeks (months?) where the assistant to the forensics specialist was collecting seemingly arbitrary crap around the office in order to frame an agent.

"The power outage was just so they could replace the hardware without any flags going up, and to throw people off of their goal."

Ah, so their riddling an internet provider with bulletholes and getting in a shootout with guards was the subtle maneuver meant to avoid detection? Clever.

This show fucking blows and I'll tell you why:

it mi[INTERNET CONNECTION LOST]

Camonk - 2009-12-19

Nerds like this right-wing tripe?

Oh wait. These are the same people who give David Weber money.

RocketBlender - 2009-12-19

If you saw the full cast of the show you'd understand why in a heartbeat. And oh yes, is it ever right wing tripe. More than half the first season (and many more episodes through the rest of the running), terrorists did it.

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-12-20

Crime dramas are goofy.

Senator_Unger - 2009-12-20

All I know about this show is that my mom falls asleep on the couch watching it.

memedumpster - 2009-12-20

This is what your ISP wants you to believe is the cause of their crappy service.

splatterbabble - 2009-12-20

I work for an ISP and this absolutely never happens.

We only get attacked by ninjas here.

Emcee - 2009-12-20

Nerds like this show? I thought only old people liked this show. Like JAG.

tamago - 2009-12-20

See Rocket bender's reply.

tamago - 2009-12-20

*Gah I meant RocketBlender. I seemed to have blacked out for a split second.

Xenocide - 2009-12-20

Looks like he's playing World of the Same Animation Repeated Forever.

RocketBlender - 2009-12-20

Look up their season 1 episode "The Immortals". It's even worse than this.

fatatty - 2009-12-20

That is probably the most hilarious mock up of a videogame I've seen yet. Fitting to see it nestled in such a hilarious mock up of a crime drama.
