He's firing, but the ammo indicator isn't changing.

Also, he got shot, but his morale didn't drop.

moldprince - 2009-12-12

That's because he WANTS to die.

snothouse - 2009-12-12

Charlie was close in the hedge maze, I could feel it.

dementomstie - 2009-12-12

So, to get out of Vietnam all we had to do was stick to the left wall?

bongoprophet - 2009-12-12

thank you

Demento wins the comments.

I can understand preserving these games for historical posterity... but actually playing them... It boggles the mind

manfred - 2009-12-12

you weren't there, man

boggy84 - 2009-12-12

Best game based on an Oliver Stone movie until the release of Magical JFK Densetsu.

ztc - 2009-12-12

Ha, Ocean Software were responsible for some terrible things.

EVILdogshu - 2009-12-12

I had this for the C64. The gameplay and graphics were exactly the same. I really *wanted* to like the game, maybe because I didn't have many infantry shooters. But no, I don't think I ever got out of that maze. Mostly because I didn't know the cheats like this guy apparently did.

PS Airborne Ranger FTW

freedoom - 2009-12-12

I had it for PC, the graphics were somewhat worse but it had a different title screen. i believe Nintendo censored the title screen before they would give it the seal. The title screen was an 8 bit version of the movie poster with Wilem Dafoe with the arms up in the air.

ztc - 2009-12-12

Airborne Ranger was brilliant!

Syd Midnight - 2009-12-13

I had a cracked trained version for the 64 so the tunnel part was pretty fun. And yeah, Airborne Ranger was the BEST.

Camonk - 2009-12-12

The description makes me think we should have a holiday called Garbage Day, where we all get off work and get to just watch Garbage Day over and over.

I remember a friend having this. Even back then you couldn't force yourself to play this for more than 5 or 10 minutes. The Rambo game was possibly worse.

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-12-12

Serious-sounding music on the NES.

Riskbreaker - 2009-12-12

The guy who compose this probably just fell asleep over a keyboard.

Cleaner82 - 2009-12-13

You know I was actually thinking the depressing music was the best part of this game.

I think a friend of mine had this game, I was so excited to see what it would be like but he never wanted to play it. Now I know.

memedumpster - 2009-12-12

The piss you off game of the year!

Jet Bin Fever - 2009-12-12

In the 80s Nintendo tried to pass off that "OFFICIALLY LICENSED BY NINTENDO OF AMERICA" as a seal of quality... good try guys, good try.

OxygenThief - 2009-12-13

Remember that company Tengen that made games for the Nintendo but fought the licensing rules the whole way? Their versions of Rolling Thunder, Shinobi, and Afterburner were far superior in every respect to the versions licensed by Nintendo.

They finally got sued over their superior version of Tetris and I believe that had to shut down soon afterwards.

True heroes all.
