Yes, because I got dragged to the theatre to see The Happening whereas I saw this at home and had the satisfaction of using the DVD as a frisbee afterward.
my favorite true story i have to tell from my life is that i almost killed m. night shyamalan. i worked on the farm in PA where they filmed "The Village" and i came flying around a corner in a truck and stopped inches from an Indian guy holding a glass of wine and talking on a cell phone in the middle of the road. he looked shaken and gave me a grateful wave. i didn't think anything of it at the time and then a week later my boss asked me if i knew i had almost killed a famous director.
so in summary, i could have prevented The Happening. I'm sorry everyone.
Did not know the countdown had already started for the 'truck obsessively tries to kill Hollywood director standing with wineglass and cellphone in middle of the road' movie.
We need Time Travel Mishap, ASAP. Dying on the set of the Village would have saved his career and put him in film history. No one would have ever seen the Village, or anything that came after.
that's always been my solace, that if i had killed him he would have been remembered as a genius instead of going on to obliterate his own career with progressively more asinine movies.
And this is the part where the hack director who has been coasting on his one success for a decade attempts a clumsy meta-joke. He'll make a desperate attempt at regaining his credibility but he'll be a half...second...too...late.
In another part of this movie, a writer played by Shyamalan is told that a magic prophecy says he will write something that will save all of humankind.
