I expected him to like this one more. Yeah it's gimmicky, but it's a good gimmick, and novel at that.

Fair.

..also saying everything I've wanted to say, but was afraid to because people might shun me for feeling a little negative about THE BEST GAME EVARRRR.
Still, I can can solve just about anything with the application of glue, a jetpack, three steaks and a chimera.. Boring? Yeah. But in no way regrettable.

The biggest problem with the game is that the developers played too many BS tricks with the parser. For example, if you type "bridge" you get this piddle little bridge that isn't long enough to go across any gap or chasm in pretty much the entire game. It's useless. However DRAWBRIDGE, makes a much longer one.

The other problem is that the game's physics engine is wildly unbalanced. Everything weighs the same and everything can push everything. So, for example, if you make a giant boulder and then tie a fly to it, the fly is capable of dragging the boulder around, albeit awkwardly. This almost means that when your character goes running around flailing, he knocks over just about everything on the level you've placed.

What would have made Scribblenauts more interesting past the first 3 or 4 worlds would have been levels with distinct limitations. Flying over and across things really isn't a "puzzle" when it's repeated 50 times and the same solution works for all of them. However, if you, say, restricted flying devices, it would have made it more interesting.
