Looks in the spirit of River City Ransom. Sold.

It is, and it's great.

Banana suit!

I played the first game in this series on the PS2. Sometimes I'd get bored of it because it was really a pretty terrible game, but then it would inform me that I'd just gotten a banana costume as a reward for using my laser eyes to ogle the butts of 500 schoolgirls.

Honestly most games from Japan (like most games from America) suck.

But not games from Atlus.

The golden era of japanese developers is gone, companies like Thecno (doble dragon, river city ransom) the puyo puyo creators, among others, are either dead or got bought by bigger companies. Others like Natsume just stick with "safe" franchises (Harvest Moon) and the rest just, well, started to suck really hard. There is some light at the end of the tunnel, treasure is still alive and well, team ICO as well. Kojima still could produce something good, and Sega still can do some good stuff from time to time.

I don't know, PSP and DS have been a glimmer of hope. Most of the classic developers of that era have joined Marvelous and Success. The Puyo Puyo creators are still around, the company has just changed their name from Compile to Compile Heart.

Also, Sunsoft and Victor Ireland's Gaijinworks have bought the rights to Telenet's entire backcatalogue, which is great news.
