If you've played and enjoyed this game and its cinematics, but you haven't read The Black Company, I hope you choke on your next meal and die with your brain full of nothing but regrets over a life half-lived as your soul is sucked down to a black, hopeless eternity of emptiness and dread.

Cause you suck is why.

The limper was one tough son of a bitch.

Croaker - the unlikely hero. One badass physician.

Awesome game but I got my ass kicked all the time online.

FABIO - 2009-09-01

Those king of the hill matches were some of the most bite sized online RTS fun ever. Everyone skirmishing around until the last minute where it became a glorious clusterfuck free for all rush and you got to toss dwarf cocktails blindly into the melee.

But of course, everyone only ever wanted to play that awful If I Only Had a Trow map, just like Starcraft players only want to play Big Game Hunters, because the RTS majority is retarded.

Sick Man - 2009-09-01

I don't know when you arrived, but we had plenty of alternatives to BC Trow.

Neurotic - 2009-09-02

Fabio, BC Trow maps were a full second in comparison to the number of 3r 2g games that took place regularly on the ladder. I have a fond memory of long 1v1 BC Desert matches. Trow was popular as a clan map because it was extremely well balanced, and had little room for error on either side. 3r 2g was almost always won by the winner of the 2g side of things, and it was nigh impossible to get a game on most other maps in competitive play.

Lots of great games on the Dire Marsh map, just screwing around. Ahh, memories.

I mod the living shit out of this game. Ive got some youtube videos of some gameplay that isnt half bad too.

youtube.com/oogaboogan

"Vivid Struggle" and "Gameplay Footage" are the titles.

Fun fact: I am on the ProjectMagma team, the group of people who continue game updates for the series, and now we have shit like jumping units (I was the first to engineer it using Fear and Loathing, the physics/map editors respectively).

Seriously, I could go on and on and on about myth. Forever. I fucking love it.

Myth + poetv = nerdgasm. I might start uploading some of the cooler journal entries or cutscenes.

oogaBooga - 2009-09-05

side note: not all units jump, its actually a very convoluted engineering feat that we used for some 20-angle many-frames high res sexy jumping spiders that our modeler friend Souly rendered for us.

Everyone should get 1.7. The detail textures are off the hook. Remember how bland the colormaps were? This adds a high resolution layer of texturing.

Also, the Magma team has gotten a hold of the 3D models for all of the game's units. We are in the process of basically turning myth SUPER high res. A normal Thrall unit in m2 is about 30x60 pixels, and I just finished the new thrall who weighs in at a whopping 200x400 pixels.

Its fucking beautiful. I'm not supposed to tell anyone we have the models, but so far im the only one doing the work and rendering the units, and if I wanna expose my dorkitude to the poetv guys for all my hard work, im danm well gonna do it.

wanna see screenshots of the HD thrall?

hl.udogs.net/files

then navigate to:

Uploads/User Uploads/oogaSooga's Uploads (i used ascii that doesnt convert well in a URL). Also since it starts with lowercase my folder will be located near the bottom of the listl.

The name of the file is flowers2.zip, for inconspicuity.

I hope some poetv dork can appreciate this.

AND YES I TOTALLY READ THE BLACK COMPANY!

Black Company was great.

The sequels...almost took a Dune level nosedive in quality.
