You win this round of "awful covers".
Tomorrow, I will terrify you all with songs that sound like orcs & trolls preformed them.
but it is not about finding terrible music. it is about finding an awful cover that destroys the idea of what you love.
it is literally tearing apart all that is good and decent.
are you ready for that?
Mashedtater, imagine a seminal 60's rock standard savaged by a group of Germans who turned to music* just to escape working in a coal mine.
Also, I have in mind two 70's classics in mind that were covered/mutated by the king of misogynistic grindcore.
And lady, I'm not even going near the carnage committed against the Beatles legacy.
* note that I use the term "music" in only the loosest sense of the word.
First off, much as I love it, "Train in Vain" is far from the Clash's "magnum opus."
Secondly, Pillager -- Anal Cunt making fun of a song doesn't really count as an "awful cover" the same way that this, or Celine Dion's "You Shook Me All Night Long," or Oasis doing "Come On Feel the Noise," does. Putnam's just applying his one trick to whatever song he can play a single measure of, for comedic effect.
Stopheles, in Anal Cunt's case Seth Putnam makes the lyrics in his covers understandable. Looking at his usual screeching delivery, I'll get him some credit for sounding at least a little like the original.
Beside, does motive really matter? Whether or not someone's trolling or dementedly believes 100% in what they're doing, the end results are still ghastly.
i just wanted to use fancy words. yeah, but it is a well known classic.
