Whenever I'd watch videos of Glenn Beck playing with Barbies and people would comment that he's insane, I thought it was humorous exaggeration. Oh, how I was wrong.

Apparently one of the principles everyone felt after 9/11 that we need to go back to, is "I believe in God and he is the Center of my Life".

Although there were many negative emotions after 9/11, there were some good sentiments too. One of these was a massive increase in charitable donations and concern for our fellow Americans. Is charity and concern for the less fortunate listed in the 9 principles? Of course not. Is there a Randian statement suggesting that a requesting charity is like an assault on a persons liberties? You betcha.

That was hilarious in several different ways.

As a non-US person there are many satirists in the US that I can take or leave. But Colbert I really like. This was great.

wtf japan - 2009-09-16

We don't have that many satirists here. Not nearly enough, anyway.

THA SUGAH RAIN - 2009-07-19

Are you ready to be the person you were on 9/12?

I lost it there.

chairsforcheap - 2009-07-19

we'll be fright beck.

Man Who Fights Like Woman - 2009-07-20

Earlier today someone asked me "Who's Glenn Beck?" I nearly teared up, from longing for a simpler time.

mashedtater - 2009-07-20

but then again, poetv has provided you with an answer.

"A goddamn lunatic."

pastorofmuppets - 2009-07-20

In case you hadn't heard from everywhere else on the internet: there are people out there who honest-to-god believe that what Colbert does is sincere promotion of right-wing politics and pundits. They believe this.

I don't think they actually watch him much, though.

memedumpster - 2009-07-20

Whoa, momma'! Move over, Alex Jones, the Republicans are stimulating the economy o' crazy! At the rate of the implosion of the right wing, I figure they might beat the Large Hadron Collider in the Race to the Apocalypse. Where once there were but few who sat in dark holes fearing the government and plotting the destruction of everything, now there's, what, fifty million? Fox News is the number two cable channel in America, I think.

I stand ready to exploit the new market of right-wing crazy. Glen Beck had a real point, I don't want to be the guy I was on 9-11, I want to be the guy who, on 9-12, invested a fuckload in the company who makes those little American flags you buy at gas stations. I want to get rich off this shit, like that person did.

I want to be a real American.

joyofdiscord - 2009-07-22

The cognitive dissonance is overwhelming. He contradicts himself from one "principle" to another. He and his spouse are the ultimate authority, and government answers to them, yet you also must pay the penalty for breaking the law, and no one is above it.

He also champions dissenting against the government, which was not exactly a prevailing trend shortly after 9/11. I guess it only applies when the Democrats are in power, or when the Republicans are not being radical enough.
