Kumquatxop - 2009-07-14

Tubby Fatpants ughhhhhhhh

William Burns - 2009-07-14

Poor Harrison :(

Sundry - 2009-07-14

Isn't it possible that his crying was caused by not being able to do what he had been psyched up to do rather than by any trauma caused by the experience?

"Failure to perform" must be difficult for a 9 year old being filmed by strangers.

Sundry - 2009-07-14

...That came out wrong.

William Burns - 2009-07-14

That's what I had assumed. Kids are emotional critters.

Smellvin - 2009-07-14

Part of why the kid probably didn't like firing the rifle was probably that the asshole range-master didn't show him how to hold it properly. ... And since he was an ex-marine, he probably kicked the kid in the face off camera.

Chancho - 2009-07-14

That gun was too big for him. They should have gave him an MP5.

OxygenThief - 2009-07-14

I would have went with the Gauss Rifle.

ProfessorChaos - 2009-07-14

When Jack Thompson introduced himself as the video game industry's worst nightmare, I lost it with derisive laughter.

Enjoy being disbarred, prick. No-one misses you.

FeeFiFoFoTheFifeFifeBrown - 2009-07-14

Just wait until*his* yearly revenues exceed ,000,000,000. Then we'll see who's laughing.

Hooker - 2009-07-14

I still can't stand Penn Jillette or this horrible show, regardless of how frequently I agree with their overall premise.

FeeFiFoFoTheFifeFifeBrown - 2009-07-14

NOW LET'S GET SERIOUS FOR A MOMENT SHALL WE

No. Keep making fun of the crazy people. Nobody likes maudlin.

SharpHawk - 2009-07-14

I agree with Hooker.

KnowFuture - 2009-07-14

That's a cool mom that kid has. Parents who don't represent retarded points of view need to be in front of cameras and say stuff more than they do.

Chancho - 2009-07-14

This is a good mom. She knows her kid isn't an idiot and has a reasonable amount of trust in him.

Aelric - 2009-07-14

While I don't think a 9 year old needs to be playing Fallout 3 for the same reason a 9 year old shouldn't watch porn, cutting off the entire industry is retarded. Censorship has never accomplished anything good. You don't want your kid seeing that, don't let them. You don't want other people's kids seeing that, mind your own business. You don't want anyone to ever seeing that by destroying it's existence, go fuck yourself you totalitarian whore.

No excuse me, I got to go play some Point Lookout.

citrusmirakel - 2009-07-14

This video no longer available, due to a copyright claim by CBS. Huh. I didn't know that CBS owned Showtime. Oh well, now I can just imagine what this clip was like:
"I'm Penn Gilette, this is my partner Teller, video game hysteria is BULLSHIT!"
[music]
Penn, in voiceover: "This is Dr. Henry Gausmann. He's a psychiatrist who graduated from UC-Berkley, so we can assume he has some smart things that he could say to us."
Henry: "Consistant exposure to violent video games has led to a changing in the brain chemistry in the test subjects we've witnessed. They've grown to be"
Penn, VO, interrupting: "Less inclined to buy your STUPID FUCKING BOOK!? Is that what you were going to say?"
Henry, continuing: "almost sociopathic in nature."
Penn: "Sociopathic!? 94 percent of children under the age of 20 play video games on a regular basic, and this COCKSUCKER just called all of them sociopaths!"
Penn is now standing in a white room. Behind him, Teller is dressed up in a schoolboy outfit from the Victorian era.
Penn: "You know, kids these days have so many difficulties to deal with. Columbine, teen pregnancy, AIDS, drug addictions these are all horrible things that happen to teenagers because they are confused." (there is now water coming from Penn's tear ducts) "They're just trying to get by, so they can grow up and drive a car, maybe meet some girls, maybe try to get in an orgy some day.... And maybe... just maybe... at some point they can find happiness in their own little corner of The American Experiment."
Henry's clip repeats: "almost sociopathic in nature."
Penn: "But that's gonna be a lot harder when this MOTHERFUCKING ASSHOLE is running around telling perfectly innocent children that they are sociopaths who should be set on fire and thrown in a ditch. Dr. Henry Gausmann? You sir, are a WORTHLESS CUNT and I hope you live to see your own mother raped in front of you."
Insert an interview with either Michael Schermer or James Randi, hopefully saying something that P&T agree with. Film them from the waist up, so as not to broadcast the fact that Penn & Teller literally blow them each and every time they are on camera.

Xenocide - 2009-07-14

Since I didn't get to see the video, these stars are for your comment.

keinsignal - 2009-07-14

yep. Tempted to favorite it, really.

Sick Man - 2009-07-14

That's a fair assessment of the show in general, but this episode was at least better than that.

memedumpster - 2009-07-14

Most self aware episode yet!

Riskbreaker - 2009-07-14

I'm ok with them calling Jack Thompson an asshole.

mashedtater - 2009-07-15
