Is there any reason why the songs of my youth can't be vocal "standards", like so many Tin Pan alley songs became?
Obv I don't mind them, but I am surprised by their longevity as a gimmick band. They've only bettered the original on one track, the delightful "Too Drunk to Fuck".
In a similar vein is Eldissa, which does samba versions of late-70s disco like "Funkytown" and "Ring My Bell".
