For the longest time, I had a tape of an episode of the Kilborn-era Daily Show. In the episode, Craig Kilborn made a joke about the failed World Trade Center bombing in '93, saying, in essence "Yeah, like anyone is gonna mind if a couple thousand stock brokers die!"

I held on to that tape for quite a while, waiting for Craig Kilborn to become famous, so that I could ransom it out or just sell it to Inside Edition or something. Of course, eventually I realized Craig Kilborn would never actually become famous.

I liked the Kilborn era of the Daily Show
(and Beth Littleford was awesome).
I went to a taping one time, Timothy Dalton
was the guest. There were lots of delays,
Beth Littleford went around giving everyone candy.

The show was a little more mean-spirited back then,
but it was done well, imo. Kilborn said it best on one of the episodes: "If you don't have anything nice to say...send us a resume".

Also, the best Littleford moment was when she was jacking off the pig at the Breeding Insemination clinic, and in disgust yelled "cumshot".

When I heard Craig Kilborn was leaving the show and being replaced by John Stewart, my first thought was "GOOD!". I was a fan of Stewart from his days hosting Short Attention Span Theater, which never gets mentioned. It's like something Craig Ferguson said to the effect of "Great comedy is about tearing down those in power, not kicking a man when he's down." Stewart tears down people in power, Kilborn kicked people when they were down. Craig Kilborn was, is, and always will be a dick, and I'm always overjoyed when any attempt he makes at a comeback fails miserably (Remember his FOX Sports Show? Me, neither, thank "BOB!"). To paraphrase Chris Morris: "Craiggers, the next time you cross the street, don't look both ways!". Sorry about the rant, but there's something about the man that just makes me want to beat the everliving fuck out of him!
