Perhaps fighting with the cop when Dad is having a seizure isn't the pinnacle of class, but she is under stress AND he escalated the situation before attending to the emergency.

I dunno, maybe I'm biased since I had to make a similar 911 call a few years back, and managed to keep my composure while the operator asked her dumb questions, when all I wanted to do was scream just like this girl did. Then again I also wasn't 17 years old at the time.

Honestly. This cop deserves a punch in the gut and you deserve at least a glove-slap. If you had taken the call maybe you'd have been like, "WELL I NEVER, PROFANITY." But you wouldn't have hung up I think, because it takes an evil fucking soul to place a clean mouth over a life. It takes an evil fucking soul to hang up on a girl whose father is dying because she's offended you.

It's very simple really. The cop is in a position of responsibility, should have appropriate training for de-escalating a distraught member of the public, is older, experienced, and shouldn't default into some reactive externalization of his personal inadequacies.

Actually the phone reaction isn't half as bad as the false arrest inside the station - the man should at least be fired, and possibly in jail for that. What's the legal penalty for misuse of police authority these days.
