Godammit. Why'd they have to do this on the North Side. The North Side sucks.

CMU has pretty sweet pranks though. My school's only prank was filling the city with artsy emo kids, sweaty anime nerds and furries.

Herr Matthias - 2009-01-27

let me guess...you went to the Art Institute?

fatatty - 2009-01-30

You are correct sir.

spikestoyiu - 2009-01-26

+4 for a well thought out prank, -2 for making trying to make it sound important. I should have subtracted one more just for the line about "blurring the line between fiction and reality."

Dib - 2009-01-26

So is this on street view, or did the overt activities just compel them to drive that one alley again the next day?

dementomstie - 2009-01-26

it looks like it's been removed from street view unfortunately. The big chicken statue is there, and a couple of people with umbrellas, but no marching band or joggers or love laser.

dementomstie - 2009-01-26

Wait, no, I was wrong. It's there.

Cena_mark - 2009-01-26

White People....

robotkarateman - 2009-01-26

Seriously people, would it have been so hard to have an entire 8-block stretch of people wearing masks like they had in Pink Floyd's "The Wall" ?

Herr Matthias - 2009-01-26

I lived in Pittsburgh for a few years, and, due to it being cheap and containing a declining number of viable jobs, I remember the city as gradually being taken over by a variety of "avant-garde" artist collectives who occasionally create some really neat stuff but most of the time busy themselves with being douchebaggy, insular, pretentious artist types.

Fun fact: on a walk down East Carson Street on an average day, the average person will say "that guy is trying WAY too fucking hard" under his or her breath an average of 37 times.

fatatty - 2009-01-30

All very true. But we also have a growing technology sector, thanks in large part to the Universities. It's still under the radar but may give Pittsburgh a point beyond Steelers, drunks and our growing faggy artist population.

Herr Matthias - 2009-03-14

I think I might add that I went to a talk given by Richard "Rise of the Creative Class" Florida back when he was CMU's big academic celebrity, at the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh.

I have never been in a room full of more people I wanted to punch in my life.

(Also, I think we need an 'ARTISTS!' tag)

undecided - 2009-01-27

This was not a random prank. It was an organized art project approved by Google. More info on www.streetwithaview.com

SAY THINGS FASTER AND JUST SHOW THE PRANKS.

Gwago - 2009-01-27

Cool concept. Just shut the fuck up about it.

Hooper_X - 2009-01-27

On one hand, that's funny. On the other, who cares?

I bet the dudes in the Street View car were either laughing their balls off or REALLY pissed.

chumbucket - 2009-01-27

the neighborhoods went downhill since Fred Rogers passed away
