"The left newspapers might whine a bit
But the guys at the station they don't give a shit
Dispatch calls "Are you doin' something wicked?"
"No siree, Jack, we're just givin' tickets"

As we ride, ride, how we ride..."

heyitslozeau - 2009-01-07

2 weeks paid vacat...I mean suspension, paid suspension. That'll show him not to shoot people all willey nilley.

seriously though, that police officer should be in jail forever.

Desidiosus - 2009-01-07

I think those worms that eat your body away should be judiciously introduced to him.

Cleaner82 - 2009-01-07

Maybe that fish that swims up your peehole.

chumbucket - 2009-01-07

yay america

Comeuppance - 2009-01-07

Don't murder me, bro.

wtf japan - 2009-01-07

Was that wrong? Should I not have done that?

wtf japan - 2009-01-07

Also, this video depicts an actual death, but I'm interpreting the "no death vids" ban to actually mean "no clips in which delight is supposed to be derived from the fact that another human being actually died."

So I'm guessing that makes explosions, wrecks, shoot-outs, etc. in which people may or may not die ok, but beheadings, torture, gruesome suicides and the like are right out. Does that sound about right?

StanleyPain - 2009-01-07

Chet specifically said news and current event related media was exempt, so I'm assuming nothing is wrong.

Dutch Oven Fresh Pie - 2009-01-07

I'm a bit confused about these guidelines. Is it okay to post a video of someone smashing watermelons with their gigantic tits? What if its from a daytime television show?

wtf japan - 2009-01-07

I think that's ok, as long as the nipple is concealed (including areola) or the bare breast is not shown for extended periods of time so as to be of a sexually explicit nature.

Syd Midnight - 2009-01-07

Nudity would be, like, "what would be acceptable in front of a 12 year old", so no nipples or dicks. Death should be okay as long as it's part of a news story, and not gruesome death video (I assume). The idea is to keep PoeTV from being listed as "adults only" or requiring age verification.

RockBolt - 2009-01-07

Some news article suggested that maybe the officer mistook his gun for his taser, as if that would be more comforting

Ryo-Cokey - 2009-01-07

He does fumble around for a good couple seconds before drawing it. However, a taser, even a pistol-grip taser, feels absolutely nothing like a glock in your hands.

heyitslozeau - 2009-01-07

yeah, that's the most bag-of-dicks excuse ive ever seen. As if that makes it better "no no I shot him because I don't have a clue what I'm doing! that's better right?!"

voodoo_pork - 2009-01-07

Many police depts actually have officers keep their tasers on the opposite side of their gun, colored yellow, so the confusion is extremely unlikely.

The pig just shot him point blank range.

Chancho - 2009-01-07

Whoopsy!

SDAusmus - 2009-01-07

If he tased the guy while two other officers were holding him down, would he not end up electrocuting the other cops?

Midnight Man - 2009-01-08

How the fuck would you know you fainting pussy

Hooper_X - 2009-01-07

As petty and dickish as police can be, transit cops are infinitely more petty and dickish.

Bonus evil-stars for the crowd pretty much going OH SNAP when the kid gets shot.

vissarion - 2009-01-07

Needs a "summary execution" tag

sosage - 2009-01-07

She definitely should have stayed anonymous with this video.

heyitslozeau - 2009-01-07

it's the cell phone camera video that shows it directly.

fermun - 2009-01-07

America, FUCK YEAH!

Ursa_minor - 2009-01-07

What the fuck. He just fucking executed the guy.

Camonk - 2009-01-07

The attorney for the family--and his hoodie--is named Burris. So he KNOWS about poor behavior with guns.

smoothbrain - 2009-01-07

BART has the only police force in the bay area that isn't subject to civilian oversight. Fuck those guys.

PegLegPete - 2009-01-07

I wonder what the cuffed guy on the ground who was right next to the cop that shot the guy has to say. Fucked up shit right there.

Hooper_X - 2009-01-07

I'd imagine he isn't saying SHIT, because he doesn't want to end up like that other guy.

charmlessman - 2009-01-07

That was some third world execution shit right there.
Time for a cop to go to jail.

Hey, pig! Who watches the Watchmen? Fucking cell phone cameras, that's who.

Syd Midnight - 2009-01-07

I realized that this would seem almost normal if it was happening in a jungle or grainy black and white.. "but I'm telling you my dear / It can't happen here"

Ursa_minor - 2009-01-07

eat my shorts, cowabunga dude

Cleaner82 - 2009-01-07

What the h-- OoooOoooh...

Konversekid - 2009-01-07

I hope that officer goes to jail for hate crimes.

The Faghorn - 2009-01-07

Mumia doesn't sound so fucking loony anymore in the age of cell phone cameras, does he?

Hooker - 2009-01-07

BART is a funny name.

Dicknuts - 2009-01-07

Some thoughts;

I would hope this was an accident. But having been around firearms my entire life I know that things don't get shot unless they're being aimed at and there is a finger on a trigger. And a trigger has to be pulled, and in most cases, unless a gun is tuned for competition purposes, it takes a deliberate pull. But cops, it seems overall, have much less experience and practice with their weapons than they ought to have.

The ubiquitous cinematography of modern society prevails again. Big Brother seems to work for us and not against us. But what would have happened had there been no video--no witnesses? Though these types of events tend to enrage me--enrage a lot of people, I can't help but wonder at the numerous times in the past the "I thought he was going for a gun" has given cops a free pass at murder.

Midnight Man - 2009-01-08

You mean 'reasonable doubt'? WHAT AN UNDEMOCRATIC CONCEPT

takewithfood - 2009-01-08

If you watch the other camera angle, you can see horrible regret in the officer's body language immediately after the shooting. He holsters his gun and holds his head in his hands for a moment, then bends over with his hands on his knees in what looks like shock. I get the impression that he either mistook his gun for a taser (less likely if they aren't even issued tasers, which is unclear at this point) or he didn't intend to discharge his gun (which doesn't explain why he drew it to begin with).

Those are the most generous scenarios I can imagine. Either way, it's fucked right up. Two days without even a statement, too. What the fuck.

Dicknuts - 2009-01-08

My best friends step dad was killed by a cop. I remember feeling bad for the cop. A lapse of judgment and a little bad luck and your life is ruined. I can't imagine.

Camonk - 2009-01-09

Wait, your friend's step dad was killed by a cop, and in that scenario, the COP is who you feel bad for? Are you like a killer robot from the future or something?

Dicknuts - 2009-01-10

I can feel bad for multiple people. At the same time. I'm a complicated thing.

Dicknuts - 2009-01-10

And the cop ran a stop sign doing 75 in a 35 before dawn with no lights or sirens responding to an alarm call. T-boned and killed my friends dad who was on his way to work. No question of fault. I didn't feel THAT bad for him.

FABIO - 2009-08-28

That cop will go on to be consoled by Bruce Willis right before blowing away the last bad guy.

DMKA - 2009-01-08

Oh well, at least his parents will get a nice big lawsuit award.

kingofthenothing - 2009-02-26

Yeah, because money will replace all the love, sacrifice, and pain of raising a child, it'll replace all the good times and bad and the potential this person had; money will the infinite void.

kingofthenothing - 2009-02-26

oops, 'money will fill'. Bleargh.

punch drunk babies - 2009-01-08

Update: BART officer resigns after hiding from death threats. Also, riots!
http://cbs5.com/local/oscar.grant.funeral.2.902090.html

Walt Henderson - 2009-01-09

This'll probably get me jumped on, but I feel pretty bad for the cop. It sucks to have your life ruined over an honest mistake, which I believe this was. Whatever administrator approved the carry of a taser on the same side as a firearm should be fired, at the very least.

(Yes, I feel worse for the dead guy. Take your moral indignation and shove it.)

Cleaner82 - 2009-01-14

I feel sorry for the administrator who approved the carry of a taser on the same side as a firearm. It sucks to have your life ruined over an honest mistake, which I believe it was. Whatever company makes tasers that look and feel kind of like guns needs to be demolished with the employees still inside.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-07-07

Convicted for involuntary manslaughter. That seems about right. I'm usually the bleeding heart, but I don't feel bad for the officer. He was cooperating, and for some reason the officers needed to throw the guy face down on the pavement.

And that was when he "struggled". Try to NOT struggle when someone is shoving you face down on the ground., and your arms are restrained. your arms. It's a reflex. Merely tazing the man would have been brutal, unnecessary, and stupid.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-07-07

That was some bad ass proofreading just now.

Caminante Nocturno - 2009-09-11

This guy is actually going on trial for murder this October.

I'm as surprised as anyone else.

kwash - 2009-10-04

Local news organization goes to teenager's house to watch video on laptop.

But seriously, this guy should rot.

Lies, lies, LIES! - 2009-10-27

I'm a little surprised zatojones didn't stop by to jerk off to this.
