I love one and only one thing about this movie: "fetch me my longsword, ho!", followed by a cut to a rack of shotguns with LONGSWORD written on them.

But if they'd just shifted the emphasis to that last syllable...

For my money, you can't beat the Richard Loncraine/Ian McKellan "Richard III" as far as revisionist Shakespeares go.

Doomstein - 2008-10-11

This movie had some amazing guns.

fredfrankel - 2008-10-10

this is good but yeah that McKellan RIII is seriously good...
plenty POE worthy material from that one

dueserpenti - 2008-10-10

It gets a lot of hate these days, but honestly I think this is the best version of Romeo and Juliet put to film.

Thirding the love for SFC's RIII, and throwing out their Loves Labour's Lost.

Keefu - 2008-10-10

It's a pretty straight forward adaptation, I think actually. The most major change besides time period and everything is that basically the title characters are made likable.

woah, blast from the past.

My first ever date with my first ever gf was to see this movie.

Dinky Patterson - 2008-10-11

Never was there a story of more woe
Than that girl's first date with Frank Rizzo.

Godard's Drinking Problem - 2008-10-11

You didn't.

SolRo - 2008-10-11

This is one of the things I will boast about concerning my generation; we didn't need film adaptations of classical novels translated into slang and common english.

And as much as I dislike dicaprio, this movie was good overall, great visuals.

Herr Matthias - 2008-10-11

My favorite part of this movie is when Claire Danes delivers the "deny thy father and refuse thy name" line in such a way that you expect her to append "and stuff" onto the end.

kingarthur - 2008-10-11

It has its faults, but I was mostly busy being a horny tweenager and ogling Claire Danes throughout this entire film. I still want to sleep with her.

Big Name Celebrity - 2008-10-13

Jesus, but you people are young. I was already in college....

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-06-23

This page contains more praise for this film than every other place I've seen it mentioned combined.

DriverStabby - 2013-05-09

Oh, this fucking thing. I remember this. Yuck. Five stars!
