I actually thought this was one of the weakest parts of the movie. Well that, and Fey being tied up and talked at instead of her usual awesomeness.

Still, the "anime that doesn suck" is accurate. If you add a 't' anyway.

Except that most of the things in that tag aren't actually anime that doesn't suck. Ghost in the Shell sucks. The animation thing from Kill Bill sucks. Akira DEFINITELY sucks. Macross whatever sucks.

Cowboy Bebop is shit hot, though, no doubt.

I wasn't a huge fan of the plot of the film, so I was focused on the action. There *were* some better fighting scenes than this, usually when Yoko Kanno turned the jazz loose.

The dogfight scenes are tight, just like when Spike fights Electra.

Macross Plus sucked? Some of the jet fighting animation in that series was the shit...

This is for Cowboy Bebop and the animators of the series being the shit: as in, actually animating figures actually doing shit, in motion. Not just going the usual anime route...which is scroll a painting from one side of the screen to the other for 20 minutes or only making the mouth move on a still manga drawing.
