At the time, we all dismissed her as tripe for the pre-teen demo. This isn't bad at all.

I remember watching the original broadcast when I was a kid. It was awesome, but I remember being so disppointed at the obvious lip synching that I complained to my mom about it. I got the "Now, now, dear, no one can dance like that AND sing well at the same time. It has to be one or the other" explanation.

It's 18 years later (oh shit!!) and now Madonna is doing more vigorous dance routines to Vogue than this one while singing live (or at least she has a few times that I've seen, if not consistently). Uh, and as it turns out, Mother was right! It IS a question of "dance well" or "sing well." Madonna rarely pulls off both, but at least she tries now. So 4 stars for the flashback, and 1 bonus star for trying.

I don't care how much later this is. Correcting the error of a one-starring menace.
