Hugo Gorilla - 2008-08-26
The Lord of the Rings movies and World of Warcraft have pretty much ruined anything coming out in the fantasy genre for the years to come.

SolRo - 2008-08-26 lord of the rings was great, no matter how many 3dgy people say otherwise
Camonk - 2008-08-26 HuGAY GAYrilla, am I right guys?
Hugo Gorilla - 2008-08-26 I'm not saying I didn't like the intro. I meant how everything has to be about Alliances and these grandiose battle with way too elaborate armor since the movies and WoW came out. The video even looks like the Battle of Pelennor Fields. I didn't realize I would ruffle anyone's neck beard.

glasseye - 2008-08-26 Uh, Warhammer has been all about that since the 80s.
glasseye - 2008-08-26 I was in the final stages of closed beta, it's one hell of a game. Best PvP battles around in the current generation, easily.
Hooker - 2008-08-26 Haha, HuGAY GAYrilla. So true.
Camonk - 2008-08-26
I enjoyed it and I don't even care about Warhammer that much. I guess I just like the orcs attacking by catapult.
Caminante Nocturno - 2008-08-26
Warhammer was the thing with the Skaven, right? I remember then being pretty awesome looking. How come they're not in this?
Caminante Nocturno - 2008-08-26 I would seriously consider playing this game if they were.
smoothbrain - 2008-08-26
So what's the difference between this and World of Warcraft?
glasseye - 2008-08-26 Lots. WoW as a game is essentially about having good gear. WAR as a game is essentially about pounding other players faces into the dirt and taking their towns. "Realm vs Realm" combat is what WAR is all about (think big battles involving dozens or hundreds of players against each other,) not hours long raids against AIs.
Outside the actual games, the Warcraft universe is basically a watered down copy of the Warhammer universe.

I would be much happier if the entire game and associated cinematics focused solely on the orks and goblins and the hilarious shit they get up to.
glasseye - 2008-08-26 The ork and goblin areas have some pretty hilarious quests, that's for sure. One of the first ones involves loading drunken dwarves into barrels, and tossing them off of a cliff. A later quest has you break the survivors out of their barrels and kill them.
Triggerbaby - 2008-08-26 You have convinced me to upgrade my assessment of this game to "cautiously optimistic".
Camonk - 2008-08-26 That's a completely awesome quest. I'll at least play this game just long enough to do that.

Doctor Frederick Odd - 2008-08-26
That's... that's a human flamethrower.
Hmmm. How non-retarded is the use of magic on this game?
zatojones - 2008-08-26
Good to see that they made the Dark Elves as slutty in this game as they did in the miniature games.
theSnake - 2008-08-26
Cool. I have high hopes about this game and it's siege/keep combat.
Jeriko-1 - 2008-08-26
Its nice to see the orks are depicted as orks and not some misunderstood, green negroes trying to fit in.
WAAAAAAAAAUGH!!!

balistic - 2008-08-26
This was made here at Blur, though I was on Halo Wars at the time.
Was cool watching the dailies come together.

That's one big Lord of Change.
