unfortunately if you did not notice you really don't have the right in this country to protest etc in most places without a permit.

and also, as was noticeable from the last presidential election, out side the Republic National Convention there were "free speech zones" where protesters were required to be. like areas 124023432 million feet from the actual place.

and of course there was the whole FBI spying on those radical hippie organizations before the conventions because I mean a bunch of dread locked, anti-showering, patchouli oil wearing peacenicks = terrorists

I don't understand it, as all I see are conservatives wanting to keep a stranglehold on what people can or can't do. Marriage be about love? Forget it! Women having reproductive rights? No way! Stomp on them! Shut them up, herd them into churches and lock the doors.

I'm sure the republican spin machine will convince the rest of America that she was a dangerous terrorist and had to be locked up for our safety.

I predict: a fine for trespassing knocked down to plus court costs. They asked her to leave, she didn't, until police officers escorted her away.
The "partially paid for by your tax dollars" and content of the sign are all distracting side issues that have nothing to do with her arrest. They most likely reserve the right to not let you bring in a sign -- like a ballpark -- and if you're not there to go into the town hall, you're not allowed to loiter outside the venue at all.

Your tax dollars pay for schools, stand outside one with a protest sign and see how long you last.

Yeah, the technicalities of private property law aren't nessecarily on her side here, but it was nevertheless in poor form to arrest the old lady and drag her away for carrying a sign outside the 'open town hall meeting'. Every now and again, irregardless of the letter of the law, people are allowed to use their brains.

They have swung around to McCain now, I guess it's his turn after Obama to have his ass kissed. The media really is deeply unprofessional and does not do its job.
